Brought my truck in for a leak. I told them I can see leak coming from near the vacuum pump. They said it was a timing cover leak and charged me $5300 to fix it. Had to come back du I told them I can see leak coming from near the vacuum pump. They said it was a timing cover leak and charged me $5300 to fix it. Had to come back due to leak I noticed in the same area as before. They said it was the vacuum pump leaking. $1300. They said the first leak test never showed oil leak from vacuum pump. But if I could see the leak with my eyes they should have caught that. I'm not convinced there ever was a timing cover leak. And I was charged lots of money for that much more expensive repair. They didn't listen to me. Didn't return my calls during this process. And after replacing the leaking vacuum pump I still hear knocking noises. Ive been around mechanical work my whole life and know what to listen for and know my truck. Their mechanic basically told me when I came in with an issue after the first time that I spent a lot of money and was hyper aware and hearing noises because of it. This is not true. Don't feel good about the work and staff at McDonald Toyota. I'm going to follow up with Toyota to file a complaint and see what I can do from there. More
