Had a deal worked out with a sales person for the 2022 MDX. Got a call from them that our car has arrived. Went to the dealership ready to drive the car home. Manager (Ronnie) comes out and say they wi MDX. Got a call from them that our car has arrived. Went to the dealership ready to drive the car home. Manager (Ronnie) comes out and say they will not honor the deal because he can over ride any agreed deal and that someone is in line to buy it for a higher price. I am not upset for the fact that they want to sell the car for as high of a price as possible. My issue with them is there is no integrity from that dealership. More
DO NOT TRUST McGrath’s ONLINE TRADE IN VALUATOR. What a waste of time! Due to the hot used car market, I currently have several thousand dollars of positive equity in my lease of a loaded 2019 Jeep Grand C waste of time! Due to the hot used car market, I currently have several thousand dollars of positive equity in my lease of a loaded 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have had my car “virtually” appraised by the websites of Carmax, AutoNation, and several dealerships, and have followed up with in-person, physical inspections of the car to confirm the values that the on-line appraisals established. In all cases, the in-person appraisals matched or exceeded the values established on-line. I went through the same process with McGrath as I had interest in a luxury SUV in their pre-owned inventory. I provided accurate/conservative information about my Jeep in their online survey and was presented with a “Trade Value Certificate” indicting a price range McGrath would be paying for my trade (of course, only after they confirmed its condition with a physical appraisal). I even spoke with the internet specialist at McGrath to confirm that the “certificate” was, in fact, relatively accurate and was assured that if my vehicle matched the description I had presented online, the pricing would be honored. I made an appointment to revisit the dealer to allow them to physically inspect my car and to, once again, test drive the luxury SUV I had in mind. I had fully intended to buy the McGrath SUV. I was disappointed that the vehicle I wanted didn’t have parking sensors (my fault for noticing this during my first visit to the dealer), but was a bit stunned when the manager informed me that despite my car being exactly as I described it, they would not honor the price on the certificate. In fact, the best they could do was some $7,000 LESS, nearly 20% less than what their own online program had established. No explanation. "BAIT" me with a phony good price for my trade, then "SWITCH" it up with a number some 20% lower. I left the dealership feeling deceived. It may sound petty to write this, but I hate having my time wasted. More
