Usually a Great Experience, But This Time Not So Great I have had my Smart Car for 5 years, bought it at this dealership and have taken it only here for service. This time I had a "check engine" light come I have had my Smart Car for 5 years, bought it at this dealership and have taken it only here for service. This time I had a "check engine" light come on just a few days before my annual service. When I arrived, we talked about the annual service and the cost for that. We also talked about "running the diagnostic for the check engine light." The person helping asked if I had recently filled my tank with gas. I had, and she suggested that maybe it was because the gas cap was loose and that was why the check engine light came on. I said I could run out and screw my gas cap back on to see if that was actually the problem. When I told her I'd filled the tank 3 days ago, she said not to bother because it would only cause the engine light to come on within an hour of getting gas. So, she discouraged me from checking the cap. The cost to run the check engine light diagnostic was $165. At the end of my service, she said it actually was an issue with the gas cap. I feel cheated by this charge, because we had a conversation about the gas cap and the woman from service helping me discouraged me from checking it. It's a very expensive charge for such a minor issue, especially because we actually discussed it before hand. More

Overnight Stay My engine light came on just before a road trip of about two hours. I called and was told that as long as the light was yellow, I'd be OK. I made it to my destination and back - but on the way back, just pulled into the dealership and left my car. I got a ride home (Charles is the best) and got a call the next morning to tell me my car was ready. Was picked up (Charles again) and delivered to my sparkling fixed car. Everyone at MB of Seattle is outstanding. More
