I just purchased my third car from Herb Gordon Mercedes, the second with Jonathan Logue. I knew what car I wanted and its purpose was to provide transportation each week for my daily commute to the DC Metropolitan area. Since I live in Texas, I needed a speedy transaction that could be handle transportation each week for my daily commute to the DC Metropolitan area. Since I live in Texas, I needed a speedy transaction that could be handled remotely. Julian was very co-operative and responsive in providing answers to my questions. After several telephone calls and a number of emails, I was able to go into the dealership and close the deal in 15 minutes (note, I had already driven the car that I wanted at a dealership in Texas where I am a resident). He sent all of the paperwork to Texas and we handled the transaction remotely. The car was ready on the day and time that I indicated for pickup and once again we finalized the transaction quickly. This is exactly what I wanted to accomplish. Thank you. (my only omission was not spending more time to explore on pickup the car, but will go back at a future date for instruction if necesary) More

It had been our intention to purchase a new car by spring but Mr. Delgado's gentle persuasion and fantastic pricing motivated us to buy now and we are quite happy. The sales manager and the finance person were also helpful, professional and moved quickly to facilitate the closing of the deal. Be careful when you are trading your vehicle in at this dealership (Herb Gordon Mercedes). The used car sales manager gave me a list of reasons why my car was worth less than wholesale blue book. All were dealership (Herb Gordon Mercedes). The used car sales manager gave me a list of reasons why my car was worth less than wholesale blue book. All were fair in terms of what would need to be done in order to bring it up to salable condition but the price he quoted me for each item (that he subtracted from blue book value) were retail prices (I knew this as I had already had the work quoted at multiple vendors). His language was "here's what I'm going to need to spend in order to resell this car". That was actually not correct. He should not be paying retail to get repairs done, if he is, his service manager is overcharging him. Assuming a margin of 20% on repairs he was at least that much overestimating the deductions from blue book that he presented me. He suggested I take it to CARMAX as they are 'not as smart as him' in valuing cars. I thought the slurring of competitor was poor form (that I would not expect from a Mercedes dealer) and while it might be true that he is 'smart' if he can convince a potential customer to take much less for his/her car than it is worth it certainly does not seem very 'smart' in terms of driving long term business health through customer respect and loyalty.
