Worst Puchase/Customer Experience I Have Ever Encountered Traded in a vehicle, was given only ONE option as a replacement car, I could take or leave. Took it because I had no other option, was over-charged fo Traded in a vehicle, was given only ONE option as a replacement car, I could take or leave. Took it because I had no other option, was over-charged for the vehicle, number one- double the KBB value of a certified pre-owned vehicle and pay about twice the average payment. Also the extra paid upfront for the warranty is useless. The tires went bad within 8 months of owning it- bald, wire showing, etc. Had to spend almost $500 to replace them as they were not covered and are a 'special' tire, on top of large month payments, when I work a low paying hourly job. Went in for oil changes that were "covered" under warranty. Told at first I had to pay $15/per change, even though I pointed out I was told they were free when purchasing the vehicle, but I was told I had to pay the $15. At the fifth oil change, I was told that they were sorry they were charging me, they are free, yet would not reimburse for the last four charges. Went in for inspection which cost almost $100, and was failed in the note section (not the computer section...ALL PASSED). When the registration cost as much as the monthly payment....then you are told to fix a 'small' thing, that they cannot fix and again is NOT covered by the expensive warranty, and will cost us over $500 in expenses. Tell me how anyone can afford this? Ridiculous when the car has only been owned a year. Extremely disappointed since day one of purchasing this vehicle, as it was the ONLY option given. If they didn't want to help me they could have said so and sent me to another dealer. My family has been taken advantage of in more than one way since purchasing this vehicle- oil, tires, high payments, no coverage though we pay for some sort of coverage that works on nothing. I will never buy another vehicle from this company ever again. I do not recommend them to anyone for any vehicle needs. More

Never Gave Up Peter Phaneuf was awesome! I came to him after being suckered at a different dealership. When things were settled with that situation, I came back to Peter Phaneuf was awesome! I came to him after being suckered at a different dealership. When things were settled with that situation, I came back to Peter after witnessing how dedicated he was to help when I last visited. Knowing that I was not going to buy a car at that moment, he still went out of his way to find a way for me. After a few visits, and a couple complimentary coffees, Peter found the perfect fit for what I wanted and I absolutely love driving this thing. He wasn't pushy at all, he listened to what I was looking for. I was feeling stressed about the process at the start but the friendly staff at Merchants made it a very comfortable process and I left feeling like I had found the right car for me at a reasonable price. Very flexible as my daughter was with me and is 19 months old, Merchants itself was accommodating. There was toys for her to play with, books for her to read, popcorn for her to eat and fishes for her to look at! As if that wasn't enough the sales reps went out of their way to bring her Balloons. Steve Coimbria was also very informative and patient as my 19 month old was very into talking to mommy and he loved the songs from Frozen! This is a family oriented place and I appreciated that. While I'd prefer to stay in the car while the oil was changed, especially when I have both my young kids with me, I thought the waiting area was well stocked with free drinks and snacks for the kids. I'd recommend Merchants to anyone considering them. More
