After unsuccessfully touring a few other Puget Sound area dealers, I arrived at Michael's and had an easy "no-pressure" sales encounter with Jeremiah, who was actually out front in heavy rain conditions touching up the facility’s support gear and cleaning the building frontage, so he had a “global vision” to get his hands dirty and wasn’t just being a flashy car salesman. It took me a second to realize he was a sales rep but within short order he was honing in on my needs with good questions, responding with an array of used, “same-day trade-ins” (literally just dropped off in trades), pre-certified, and showing a huge supply of new vehicles from which I was able to get educated. Within 2.5+/- hours I had exposure to dozens of adequate options, including research of regional competition online, and over a respectful 30-minute (mildly open-book) negotiation that also addressed warranty and financing (best-value metrics), I left the facility believing I received a great vehicle at a mutually successful price. Overall the facility was top-notch, clean, had auxiliary garages with on-demand access to stay out of heavy rains, and a mechanic's facility operating 7-days a week (rare) providing technical support in a moment's notice - AWESOME efficiency! The harmony of sales, service, the “numbers game”, and the financing was done professionally and executed well. Had I looked “for weeks” I suppose this wouldn’t end up being the absolute bottom-dollar buy in the region, but without question I feel this was a best-value procurement process that was completed in three hours. Thus I signed the paperwork quite pleased with a vehicle that of course looks great and operates nicely on “Day 1”. The true test is the coming years of service and their ability to step up and follow through if I end up having any issues; sales is the beginning of a relationship…now it’s up to the 7-day/week shop! Thus far I am extremely impressed with the business model and would happily pay a fraction higher overheads for ADDED VALUE, so if Michael’s finishes strong on maintenance then they’ll have a best-value buyer for life. If you’re looking for the “whole package” to get educated, physically experience and test a wide array of onsite options, and flat out make the best use of your time and money, Jeremiah and the Michael’s organization will make it happen!
