Best car buying experience ever This is my second vehicle I have purchased from Mohawk Honda and Mike Bennice. I had a great experience the first time and they out did themselves this time. Mike provided me with all the information I needed as far as the Honda Pilot I was purchasing. He went over the vehicle top to bottom and most importantly he went over all the safety features. Once dwe got to the numbers I got a very fair trade value for my vehicle and a great deal on my new pilot. When I came in to pick up my new car everything was streamlined and easy. I was greeted by Mike who took my keys to help me get my belongings out of my car and Colin who was the delivery specialist went over the features of the car again set up my phone and made sure I was understanding of all the features again. Lastly I met with my business manager Johnna who to go over my paperwork. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. If you want the red carpet treatment go to Mohawk Honda. After a long while of negotiation and inspections my previousl 2008 Honda CivicLX given to me this has been an incredible experience since moment one. After a long while of negotiation and inspections my previousl 2008 Honda CivicLX given to me by my Dad, a long line of Honda Civic’s starting with my brother’s Japanese made Civic Hatchback with a manual transmission shipped to me from Silicon Valley California, I had to learn to drive a stick shift from New Jersey to Manhattan where I worked, that was ok, diving from 5th Ave and 26th St to Lincoln Center was hilarious, and being a Honda I drove it from 1985 to 1990 when I replaced with it’s updated version in 1990, and then I drove that car until 2008 when my Dad insisted that I get the car that he had just purchased, voila!, a Civic sedan because a hatchback model wasn’t available, so my 2008 is totaled by my insurance when it is discounted that besides a cracked engine block, run up on a lift for a luck the floor is crushed, my auto body/repair guy said he wouldn’t have fixed even if it was cheap to do because it would have been unsafe to drive and he doesn’t let people leave his shop in unsafe cars. Ashley Dobbs is recommended by a friend of mine, he and I are both type 1 diabetics, she highly recommends that I buy a certified pre-owned because the warranty is 100 thousand miles instead of the 36 thousand mile one on a new Honda, AND instead of chasing me on it she presents all her arguments and let’s me think about it, and it makes sense to me, she addresses my concern about another driver abusing the car by offering to selll me one of the dealer loaner cars that are available, it’ll officially have one owner, us; it will not have been driven under abusive situations because it will be undefeated for short periods etc. So, down to the dealership I go, since speaking to me Ashley has been promoted and she passes me on to the very capable and friendly Matt Alverson. Matt is just great, so he agrees to me coming to see the 2 cars on a snowy night in upstate New York, he pulls them up on his computer and turns the screen so that I can see both cars and read their features as he talks about them. They are a while 2017 Civic EX and a black 2016 Civic in a much fancier version, leather seats, et cetera , and I much more interested in the newer car because it is also over a thousand dollars less!!!, so I say that I can drive in snow and Yes, I would like to see it, and, more importantly, drive it!, Matt grabs a snow brush at the end of a long day and heads out to clean the car, and what is missing here is all the phone calls, all the interactions with friendly, polite helpful staff, all the staff who smiled, or nodded, or said “Hi” as we made our way to Matt, on my way to the ladies room, Matt’s next door sales neighbor who came over while Matt ran around doing things to chat and all made me feel welcome and paid attention to, NOT BECAUSE THEY WERE SELLING ME A CAR, but because that’s the kind of people they are, and amazing experience, and it was just beginning!!! Matt drove the car to a nearby location and did the short version of what Colin did so thoroughly and efficiently when I was being guided through all the necessary steps to car ownership, I suspect that the timing and order is different for each customer based on who’s available to do what. Colin was great!, and gave me his card and having already said: “any questions?”, he offered that he was available for any assistance and question answering to my heart’s content, I am available, so is Matt, don’t hesitate to call. And on to the finance manager Tom!, who was charming and carefully thorough, “I don’t want you to have to come back for any reason.” He walked me through the whole process explaining, indicating highlighted areas to initial, sign and date. We immediately addressed an extended warranty converting from covering just the power train to covering the entire car, and detailing the extra advantages. I made a mistake, he repeated his “not returning for any reason comment and took off to reprint it and we handled that final step. I became educated about things I did not know about things that Honda, and this dealership feel are a vital part of being a Honda owner!, and now a step back into the past.........they are not a huge dealership based on ambition, they are a hug, trusted dealership based on service!!! I have known them since first acquiring my brother’s Civic because I grew up in this area and all though I went on to college in the New York City area, I always returned to Mom’s, so I remember a dealership whose building was a slightly dilapidated house, sort of, with a crazy set of steps up to a showroom that had no cars in it because, I believe they fit one into the only large open space available and it took up to much room!, and service was a hall leading back to a medium sized shop garage, immaculate in order and neatness, with a fair sized crowd of mechanics working away at Hondas, there was a waiting room with a door that closed, it was cold in the garage in winter and hot in the summer, they did their best to make you comfortable as you waited, they were clear about amount of time to accomplish the task and didn’t hold you waiting indefinitely and uninformed, additionally they explained clearly and recommended all possible options with an eye on the cost to you, not well established they functioned on principles of service, honesty and respect............and look where they are now because of such simple, dedicated commitment to their customers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and deservidely so, all of my experience today was about respect, service, they acted like good hosts, a friendly greeting for everyone, offers of drinks, a comfortable chair, information, directions to the ladies room, chats, added benefits available and acquirable, a guided tour of your brand new unfamiliar car so that you didn’t drive off the lot feeling like an inept idiot, lost in all the new features and how to work them and on the road. As I left I felt cared about, helped to expertise in my new car, guided through all the important steps, it was starting to snow out so I jumped out of MY new car and chased back into the Matt about good mats for dirt and wet, what was the price?, no pressure to buy them at $225, easy to aqure, too brook to purchase, I asked Matt for a few extra paper mats that they put in the car to protect the carpet, “go back to your car, I’ll bring them out to you”, and he brought enough to protect the front passenger side as well!!!!, so let’s not forget the cheering on and the congratulations!!!, from all who knew, and best ever, Matt handed his cellphone to Colin who was cued up to this.........a photo of me and Matt, arm and arm, standing in front of my NEW CAR!!!!!!!, I’m the one with the silly smile!!!, and Matt is the one with the pleased grin on his face knowing that he’d participated actively all down the line to this happy ending, and the icing on the cake: “we’re going to post it to our Facebook page, and I’ll send a copy to your phone”, does it get any better?!?!?!?!, I don’t think so, they are the BEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
