I have leased cars in the past; however, the experience with the staff and service at Mohegan Lake Volkswagen was exceptional. I hit a deer on Sunday, had a rental car on Monday and Tuesday, by Wednesday I was test-driving one Audi and a VW Tiguan, which I chose, to replace the Tiguan destroyed by the accident. I had walked out o Tuesday, by Wednesday I was test-driving one Audi and a VW Tiguan, which I chose, to replace the Tiguan destroyed by the accident. I had walked out of the car without a scratch, bruise, black and blue, I WAS FINE, but the deer was instantly killed and the Tiguan was totaled. No one could have convinced me to buy a different car at that point, but David wisely allowed me to test drive an Audi A4 (which my husband drives) just to be sure I still liked the VW. I chose the TIguan again. David arranged all necessary paperwork, walked me through the Department of Motor Vehicle procedures for license plate return, the payments and insurance papers. He had the new car clean and ready to go as soon as I was able to get to it. The car was spotless, certified, gas tank filled and kept dry and clean (despite the snowstorm arriving that Saturday). He took it out of the showroom for me, handed me the keys, and off I went. I could NOT have asked for kinder, better service. This guy rocks it. More

Steve Wells really cares and helps you through the entire car-buying process. He is very knowledgeable about the vehicles he sells and answers all questions with a smile and a twinkle in his eye. I was pleased with my 2011 VW Jetta, which I did not lease from this dealer, but when I moved to the area I needed a closer dealer for service visits. Service was fine, most things were under warranty due to the terms of my lease so I didn't have to pay for much. At times it was difficult to get a service appointment that worked with my full-time work schedule, so I would have to leave the car the night before and pick it up a day or two later when it was finished (note that if I didnt have a second car this would have been FAR more inconvenient). But the biggest issue, the one that completely ruined my opinion of this dealer and Volkswagon forever, was when I returned my leased vehicle after termination of the lease. A VERY expensive item, which I overlooked when cleaning out the car and failed to remove (I take responsibility for my part in forgetting) was stolen - in fact, I called in a panic barely 30 hours after dropping off the car and the item ($700 Chanel sunglasses) were already "missing". However, my real problem is the lack of concern or customer service with which the situation was handled. As a customer of theirs for 3 years I expected them to actually CARE, or be EMBARASSED that one of their employees was a thief. Instead I was met with a total lack of concern, fingerpointing, mis-information, and basically calling me a liar, even though I made it clear right from the start that I was not asking for money and I that I knew I would likely never see the glasses again. The perfect recipe for WORST salesperson I've ever encountered - and I work in sales! Don't keep anything in your car when taking it for service here, better yet, take your car somewhere else! I've gone over to BMW where they seem to know a thing or two about taking care of the customer. More

Steve was very knowledgeable about the car, and also the differences between the model years and trim levels. Very helpful- he was able to answer all of my detailed questions. He was very motivated to beat other dealers' offers. Without any hassle or negotiating, he was able to offer an extremely good price (more than 10% under MSRP) AND he negotiated the bank to ensure that we got 0% financing. He also persuaded the dealership to offer us a very decent price for our trade-in. He also went out of his way to take care of a DMV complication that we had because of missing documents, then he stayed late for us the night we wanted to pick up the car. He even spent 20min with us walking us through the features of the vehicle, programming our phones to the Bluetooth, etc. At the end of the day, we got the exact vehicle we wanted, for less than we expected to pay, and the entire transaction was a pleasure to go through. I will definitely return to this dealer in the future. More
