I drove 8. 5 hours from Missouri to buy a 2025 Explorer xx from Montrose Ford on June 13, 2025 after arranging the deal with salesperson Patrick. He was enthusiastic, respectful, and knowledgeable about the vehicle and the FordPass setup. The rest of the experience was unacceptable. I made it clear I intended to finance through USAA and was approved at 4.9%. The dealership never disclosed that they do not accept outside financing until I arrived in person. At signing the finance manager Jessica ignored my USAA approval and placed me with a subprime lender, Westlake, at 8.99% despite dealership options showing rates as low as 7.29%. I believe this was retaliatory after I initially walked out when the rates were explained. The dealership issued a 45‑day temporary tag, but Missouri requires registration within 30 days. When I attempted to register on June 23 the DMV said the dealership had not sent the required paperwork. I contacted Jessica in finance by phone and email and left a voicemail on June 23 but received no response. A scan of previous reviews indicates that this is common behavior for Jessica to ignore calls. I never received the Manufacturer Statement of Origin or the Missouri Application for Title and License (Form 108) in my documents. Given the lack of transparency about financing, the unexplained switch to a higher‑rate lender, and the failure to provide or send title paperwork, I cannot recommend Montrose Ford. I would work with Patrick again, but I will not buy from this dealership. More
I got my vehicle to the dealership by 7:45 AM for an 8 o'clock appointment. I put my keys in the overnight dropbox like I was instructed the week prior.
