My 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been sitting at Mt. Ephraim Jeep since May 26, 2026, and I am still no closer to getting clear answers about what is actually wrong with my vehicle. The dealership has informed me that I need a new engine due to what they claim is negligent maintenance, yet they have not provided the diagnostic trouble codes that were present when the vehicle arrived, explained whether a specific mechanical failure occurred, or identified the actual root cause of the issue. Instead, they are relying solely on the presence of sludge to deny warranty consideration. What is especially concerning is that they have refused to perform or submit an oil analysis, despite having an oil sample available. An oil analysis could help determine whether contamination, a mechanical failure, or another issue contributed to the engine condition. They have also refused to submit the claim to warranty for review, even though my factory warranty expires in just a few days. Communication has been extremely frustrating throughout this process. Nick has been difficult to work with and has not provided the information needed to understand or evaluate the diagnosis. The only way we have been able to get updates has been through my husband speaking with Mike in person at the dealership. I understand that warranty claims sometimes require extensive investigation, but after more than a month, I would expect a thorough diagnosis, transparency regarding the findings, and a willingness to provide supporting evidence before recommending a complete engine replacement and denying warranty coverage. I have also requested that the dealership contact Stellantis and request a factory field technician to inspect the vehicle. Given the lack of a clear root-cause diagnosis and the severity of recommending a complete engine replacement, I believe an independent review by a Stellantis field engineer is warranted. Unfortunately, this request has not been acted upon. Instead of thoroughly investigating what actually caused the failure, the dealership appears focused solely on attributing the issue to maintenance without providing the evidence necessary to support that conclusion. The service rep was professional and attentive. He listened to my issues and developed a plan to accomplish them in a timely fashion. My issue is with the sales manager. After considerable time invested in the deal , which included driving home to bring my car back , I learned the ‘new’ truck I was buying had over 750 miles on it. The price was over 100 k with my trade . I didn’t haggle with the price hoping for a stress free transaction . I was told by the manager, it was considered ‘new’. I believe that is bull. I was very disappointed the mileage wasn’t revealed earlier in the process. The State of New Jersey defines any vehicle over 300 miles as used. This angered me . The truck had a damaged logo on the console, cigarette ashes on the back seat, and lights that were flickering. The previous user had robbed me of the new car smell, plus the time and effort to get repairs. Since I invested the time and effort I chose to continue with the deal. The manager wanted to ‘make me happy and offered 5 oil changes which I accepted. Although I like the truck, the experience has left a sour taste in my mouth.
