Awesome salesman, no pressure to buy Good part: The first day I came in to Newbold Toyota, I had already been to 2 other car dealerships and was fed up with salesmen not listening to what Good part: The first day I came in to Newbold Toyota, I had already been to 2 other car dealerships and was fed up with salesmen not listening to what I wanted and instead trying to push a car onto me. As soon as I walked into Newbold, Dave (Stevens) came up to me, asked what I was in for, and immediately got me the info I wanted. From the start, he told me that he was there to simply be a source of information for me, and that he wasn't going to pressure me in any way. I spent about 2 hours with Dave test-driving several cars and gathering the info I needed. I came back the next week ready to make a decision and purchase a Toyota. I've never met a salesman like him - he's honest, easy going, remembers details, and wants to find the right fit for you. Bad part: After deciding on a car and going through paperwork, we had to go to finance for signatures/payment. Part of finance's job (at any dealership) is to upsell and this is where my only Newbold Toyota dealership complaint comes in. The finance guy was very adamant that I purchase the extended warranty amongst other costly (and unnecessary) add-ins. When I said that I wasn't interested, he challenged me on the topic. I told him I didn't see the value in paying for an extended warranty since the included warranty is already so good and Toyota cars themselves are good. He then made the snide comment "Well let's hope you're right" and finally moved on in the process. Overall: My experience with Newbold Toyota was 100% positive up until my experience with the finance guy. I know that financial add-ins are where dealerships earn a lot of their profit, however I strongly dislike being challenged on my decisions and rude comments being made afterward. The salesman didn't treat me like that, so I sure as heck didn't expect anyone else at this facility to treat me like that. Despite this, I would highly recommend this dealership to everyone I know with the caveat to brace yourself for a rough discussion with the finance folks. More

Good experience at Newbold Toyota. A good friend who purchased seven new Toyotas from Newbold recommended we shop there. We were able to negotiate a very fair price. Beware of unnecessary maintenance recommendations I have taken my 2014 Toyota Tundra here several times and each time they recommend interval maintenance that is well ahead of the scheduled maintenanc I have taken my 2014 Toyota Tundra here several times and each time they recommend interval maintenance that is well ahead of the scheduled maintenance that the Toyota engineers recommend. For example, they say that I should change my transmission fluid at 50,000 miles, when the book doesn't recommend you change transmission fluid until 60,000 (only if you are towing or putting a heavy load on the truck), if you are not putting a load on the truck, then it is NOT recommended to change the transmission fluid until much later. When I asked why they are pushing an accelerated maintenance schedule, they had no good answer. Am I to believe that this dealership knows better than the Toyota engineers who designed the engines? It is more likely that they merely push the accelerated maintenance interval for profit reasons. I feel terrible for the customers who don't know any better and just blindly do what the dealer recommends. Please read the manual before taking this dealers service suggestions. Also know that the service writers earn commission on what services they sell you. They do not have a fiduciary responsibility to do what's best for you, the customer, they will always do what's best for their paycheck. Period. More
