He was also friendly and just a great guy. We came to the dealership as interested buyers using the Costco Auto program. Linda Ly was the manager that helped us with the pricing and using that program, we got an excellent price. Finally, we met with Mike Aguilar in Finance. Even though we were cash buyers, there is still much paperwork to be completed and Mike helped us get through it. This was by far the worst car-buying experience I’ve ever had. I purchased my first car from Norm Reeves in 2014, and it was such a great experience. Unfortunately, this second time around felt completely d had. I purchased my first car from Norm Reeves in 2014, and it was such a great experience. Unfortunately, this second time around felt completely different—I felt like I was being penalized rather than helped. I’ll admit, I made a mistake, and I appreciate the manager allowing me to return the first car, which had a strong cigarette smoke odor. Due to sinus issues, I can’t smell well anymore, so I didn’t notice it right away. I also wish I had brought my wife with me, but we couldn’t find anyone to watch our kids that day. Things really went downhill when I tried to purchase the second car. The manager, Peter Balint, didn’t seem willing to negotiate the price. It felt like I was being punished for returning the first vehicle. He eventually knocked $500 off the MSRP, but I sensed that I was bothering him just by asking. It felt like if I didn’t accept the offer, he would have simply handed me back the first car and sent me on my way. What upsets me most is that Honda of all car companies would allow a vehicle to be sold in that condition. On top of that, I had to pay for dealer add-ons, which I understand is part of the business, but I just wanted a fair deal. That’s all I was hoping for a fair deal and a respectful experience. More
