I was greatly disappointed to learn that my car was not worked on Saturday when my appointment was scheduled. This place has always been a nightmare. Today's experience with Jared was no exception. I made an appointment with him over the phone last week. I described the three issues that I was having (check engine light with a code, timing chain noise, and an open recall) and was surprised that I had no problems making the appointment. Today I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment then stood around for between 5 and 10 minutes being completely ignored. Jerod eventually begrudgingly acknowledged me, but I could tell he was going to be a problem. He was clearly very angry about my presence for some reason. I pushed past it and reminded him of our previous conversation over the phone. He continued to have an attitude about everything I mentioned and never acknowledged any of the things that I reminded him about. Then he dropped the bomb, they were going to charge me an additional diagnostic fee, even if all of the work was warrantied by Jeep. I was an ASE certified technician, shop manager, and hot rod builder for 20 years. In that time I NEVER charged a customer for diagnostic work on warranty repairs. Those charges either got paid by the warranty company (in this case, Jeep) or were simply part of the repair process. I tried to ask questions to ensure that I understood what he was trying to say, but Jared became even more agitated, talked over me, and began to raise his voice. Rather lose my cool, I left the service department and immediately made a warranty repair appointment with another dealer that does not charge a fee for the privilege of walking through their door. I made the mistake of giving Olathe DCJR one more chance after numerous previous issues. I will NEVER make that mistake again. More
