Bad judgement call on a tire Olathe Dodge has some of the best prices around for oil changes and tires. A such, I purchased a set of Michelins from them in about about sixteen mo Olathe Dodge has some of the best prices around for oil changes and tires. A such, I purchased a set of Michelins from them in about about sixteen months ago. The tires run about $325 each and came with road hazard. As luck would have it we got a piece of flat iron stuck in the middle of the tread. The service advisor said it could not be fixed and recommended a replacement. She was very nice, but I would have appreciated an estimate since it would have been under warranty and an opinion by someone who actually repairs tires. While waiting, another person in the shop said it could not be fixed. I left the dealership and went to a tire shop where I have an established relationship and trust with management. They immediately said it was repairable and had it fixed up within about 15 mins. It was at that sime that the Olathe Dodge Service Advisor called saying it would cost about $217 with the pro-rated warranty to replace the tire. The Service Manager heard my complaint, reminded me it was a judgement call, and did give me a credit for the amount spent on the repair. While everyone was polite and cordial it’s important to remember it’s incidents like this that degrade trust between the business and the customer. In the end, the tire was fixed and there have been no problems. This is not the level of service I’ve come to expect from Olathe Dodge so I will continue to go there unless it turns into a pattern.
