Eddie Santiago comes to the rescue! We leased a new Hyundai from this location last week and came back today to return our old lease. I called this location and was told no appointment n We leased a new Hyundai from this location last week and came back today to return our old lease. I called this location and was told no appointment needed. When I arrived, the front desk asked Paul Paik (our salesman whom we leased the vehicle from) to assist me. He came over and said that he will be with me once he is done with his customer. I said no problem. He came back and said that I can leave because they had license plates removed, so I requested a receipt for dropping car off. He said that I should come back to pick it up because he's busy. I said I would wait, but he insisted that he couldn't and I would have to go out of me way to come back. I also returned only one key and said I would be responsible...I asked if he could waive it as we just leased another car. He responded that "my husband stole the car, and therefore he would have never waived it". I also asked if he could show me how to open the trunk of the new leased car as the remote won't open it...he said I would need to make a service appointment. I said I shouldn't have to be put out this way if it is a setting issue...he said he didn't have time to show me. This left me with an unpleasant taste and made it a poor experience. I then went to the desk and spoke with a manager because my ride was outside waiting and had to leave. I waited an hour by then. The manager asked Eddie Santiago to assist me. Wow...what a difference. Eddie was pleasant, polite and willing to help. As busy as it was, he stopped to assist me. I explained that we have been returning customers and if it wasn't for Eddie, I was never going to shop here again! He was nice and explained the key return process....he worked to get our receipt ASAP...he also went outside to show us how to open the trunk. The trunk would not open and Eddie immediately asked the service people to look into it and they did. It turned out to be just a setting on the trunk...This is what I originally asked Paul Paik to assist we with. The difference here is that Eddie Santiago will bring you return business and retain your existing customers...plus word of mouth is your best advertisement! Paul Paik on the other hand may get you a one time sale...but will guarantee you to loose that customer going forward and contribute to damaging your reputation. Plus any bad service by Paul will likely be communicated on social media. Again....word of mouth is critical. Kudos to Eddie. I would like to make sure that I receive a request for a survey....please send me one. Because of Eddie, I will come back and recommend him in the future. And this man didn't even sell me anything!!!!He is an asset to Hyundai! More
