When I came in Peak Kia to look at a car that peaked my interest, Jonathan Ripepi was quite nice, however, the price of the car on the website was $12,988. When we went to look at the car, he told us the interest, Jonathan Ripepi was quite nice, however, the price of the car on the website was $12,988. When we went to look at the car, he told us the car was $14,988. Of course, at that time we had no intention of buying the car because of that discrepancy. The car was not very clean when we looked at it, and there were some tire pressure lights on in the car. At the price of the car, those all should have been done and checked before putting the car on the lot for sale. As we were leaving the dealership, somehow the price of the car was magically "dropped" to $12,988, which both me and my husband thought this was very interesting. After thinking about this car a bit over the weekend, we decided to go back Monday morning to look at the car. We called and informed him we were coming in. At that point in time we said we wanted to take the car to our mechanic to have it checked over. He said on the phone that they would fix anything that was wrong with it, and that if it wasn't fixed they'd just "tear up the contract". So, we take the car to the mechanic, who gives us a list of things that need fixing on the car, roughly $800.00 worth of stuff. We get back to the dealership and start talking to them. At that point, the salesmen starts to turn a bit more unfriendly. At no point in time do we even talk to anyone else about the price of the car. We offer him a price and that we'd like those items fixed, because he told us that "they'd fix anything that was wrong with it". After talking with his manager, he informs me that they are unwilling to negotiate and that they are going to pull the car from the lot and fix those issues, but that he is going to add the fixes to the price of the car and raise the price of the car. Frankly, when someone gives me a statement that says they "will fix anything that is wrong with it", that does not mean they are going to raise the price of the car. So we decide to take the price of the car as is, and we will fix the car at our mechanic so we can get the car that day. In all of this experience, I felt like the salesmen was getting more and more unfriendly with us. Also, when we started talking about the fees, I found it more than horrifying that I was charged close to $800.00 in dealer handling fees, and that there was a $200.00 "theft registration" on the vehicle. I made it quite clear I did not want a theft registration on the vehicle. This is just one more way to tack another $200.00 on the sale of the car. I talked to anybody who would listen that I was NOT interested in purchasing theft registration, but I was informed that it was required by your dealership because it's done before the car hits the lot. I was also required to sign a pice of paper that says "kia gives nothing but great service". I did not feel that way at all. I was also told the car would be cleaned before I took the car home. When I got back in the car, there was still a stickiness all over the steering wheel, which I got off quite easily with goo gone, yet I'm paying the dealer handling fees to take care of this stuff for me. In all of this, yes, I could just not do business with your dealership, but ultimately this is the car I wanted, and I could not find it anywhere else because it is such an unknown vehicle in this region of the country. I am also going to point out that the salesmen said that I am getting the "sale" price and the real price of the car is $14,988 which he shows me on craigslist from the beginning of April (it was May 7th). I pointed out to him that the Peak Kia website says the price of the car was $12,988, and he gave me the impression that he knew nothing about the $12,988 price on the Kia website. He was only interested in telling me that he had it listed a month ago on craigslist for $14,988. Frankly, I am disgusted that you tack on so many "fees" especially the "theft registration fee" which I have no way of opting out of. I have car insurance, and I have a zero deductible on my insurance, so if my car gets stolen I'll deal with my insurance company, and not your dealership. Because of the increasingly unfriendly behavior of your salesmen, your unreasonable "dealer handling fees" as well as "theft registration" fees, I will NOT recommend to anyone that I know to shop at your dealership. John knew a lot about the vehicle (2012 Kia Optima) and was very helpful without being pushy - something that I loathe. He was honest with me in regards to my trade-and he didn't try to sugarcoat it. We started out online with Peak Kia. Jon Simonton sent us a friendly email, and followed up with a call a couple of days later. We told him we weren't ready to come in and look for a vehicle at that time us a friendly email, and followed up with a call a couple of days later. We told him we weren't ready to come in and look for a vehicle at that time due to being extra busy, but we'd keep his helpful email in mind. Then on 5/12, we went to the dealership and started looking at Sedona vans, with one in mind we'd seen online. Jon was extremely friendly, super knowledgeable with any questions we had, so we then took a test drive with him. After getting back to the dealership, we asked if we could take the van out alone and he didn't hesitate. We then took the van for at least an hour and both my husband and I drove it. We got back to the dealership and tried working out a deal, with Jon guiding us. We felt the price for our trade in was a little low, so we left Peak Kia and decided it wasn't meant to be! Before we did leave, he mentioned a couple of options and said he'd be happy to work with us if we changed our minds, or possibly sold our car outright, and returned to buy the van we liked. He is very customer oriented, not pushy at all, helpful and remained upbeat and always smiling. There needs to be more car salesmen like him in this world! After going back home and thinking for a while, we decided since Peak Kia had seemed fair to us, and since we really liked the van, we called Jon and said we'd be in to complete the deal. At the dealership, the paperwork went smoothly, Jon was prepared for us and we completed the deal to trade our Impala, and buy the 2008 Kia Sedona. We also worked with Cory Nelson in finance and he was super friendly and helpful to us. About 8:00 p.m., right at closing, we were driving away in our new van! All in all, this experience was great! We felt no pressure, were treated wonderfully, and also enjoyed the amenities in the customer lounge! More
I would recommend this dealership because they made the process of buying a car easy and painless. I already knew what vehicle I wanted when I walked in the door. I knew what I could afford. Sean was great process of buying a car easy and painless. I already knew what vehicle I wanted when I walked in the door. I knew what I could afford. Sean was great to work with. He was not a high pressure guy. He showed us vehicles that would meet our needs and did not try to push "bells and whistles" we didn't want or need. He showed us all the functions of the vehicle and was very knowledgeable about the cars he was working with. He followed up with us and made the process go fast and smooth. We were in and out in less than a few hours from test drive to sale complete. That was awesome. More
Lalo made my purchase as carefree, quick, and as simple as possible from beginning to end. After visiting several other dealers in the Denver/Boulder area who had little knowledge or interst in selling th as possible from beginning to end. After visiting several other dealers in the Denver/Boulder area who had little knowledge or interst in selling the same vehicle, I purchased from Lalo at Peak quickly and easily. I have and will continue to pass Lalo's and Sophie's names on to potential buyers. Thanks again, Lalo! More
