Buying a used car there was the biggest mess I have ever seen. We came in over 2 weeks ago, after seeing an ad for a used Pathfinder. We saw the car on-line, and received a call from Austin after inquirin seen. We came in over 2 weeks ago, after seeing an ad for a used Pathfinder. We saw the car on-line, and received a call from Austin after inquiring on-line. We didn't realize the car was in Longview. We should have gone to Longview. We didn't get to even see the car until late the next day, and after they ran a credit check. The credit guy(Christian) somehow made 3-4 inquiries on both my wife and my credit scores, dropping both of our credit scores by over 50 points, with all 3 credit agencies. We are still trying to straighten up that mess. It did not get better from there. When the paperwork was prepared for financing $15000 of the purchase price, the interest rate had been increased by over 1/2 of a point. When we brought that to his attention, he denied telling us a different rate. He basically called both of liars when we were sitting right across his desk from him when he was talking with the credit union, and he said the rate aloud. By this time we had had enough of the shenanigans and manipulation. We had been trying to buy the car for a day and a half, and were totally fed up. I told him to tear up those papers and rewrite it as a cash deal. He then tried to talk us out of that, and all the while trying to convince us to buy a new Pathfinder. I think that throughout the day and a half process Austin was trying to do the right thing, but he was the low man on the totem pole. We paid cash for a 2024 Pathfinder and a 2021 Titan, trading in a 2015 F-150, got our credit scores screwed up, and had to bring the Pathfinder back because someone didn't tighten up the oilpan plug sufficiently, in Longview. Thankfully the service dept. got us in and out quickly. After raising 3 daughters, now in their 40's, having been married almost all of my adult life, I'm 68, I've bought and sold a lot of cars. I have never seen the kind of screwed up mess this turned out to be. I will probably use the service dept., at least for awhile, but probably buy elsewhere. People don't like being called liars, they don't like their time being wasted, and I learned a long time ago that you don't usually get good financial advice from someone less than half your age, that has something to gain from your decision. When I dropped off my car on a Thursday 6/5, I was told they wouldn't have time to get to it until Tues/Wed of the next week. That was not communicated to me when I called to schedule the service. He was kind and courteous and did relay that message and apologized for the miscommunication. It was a week later before I had a some but not all answers. They could not figure out why my console wasn't working (no radio, bluetooth) and by then the A/C wasn't working. So it had stopped while in the shop. After 2 weeks of diagnostics, they 'thought' moisture/water' had gotten into the console. I filed a claim on my insurance on 6/19. The insurance was terrible with communications and had to make several trips to the dealership to review the car. Throughout the insurance ordeal, Zach kept in communication with me about what was going on. The insurance made me replace the windshield to see if that was the cause of the 'moisture/water' leak. So I replaced the windshield with Safelite while it was at the dealership. At this point, another BIG failure had taken place, the HVAC box completely melted (while at the dealership) and left an oily residue all over the car. Zach communicated that no one at the dealership had ANY idea why that had failed. After filing the insurance on 6/19 and going back and forth several times with Zach & the dealership & insurance, they decided on 8/18 to total the car. Zach was helpful and courteous, despite not really finding any answers as to why the failures happened. They kept my car at the dealership and let get all my stuff out of it inside the garage, instead of out in the Texas heat! Thank you! I appreciate Zach's professionalism and courteous while dealing with the 2.5 month long nightmare. More
