bad service Need a new transmission and a valve adjustment for my Pilot. By advice took to Planet Honda in Union NJ. Cost: close to $5000.00 After service, t Need a new transmission and a valve adjustment for my Pilot. By advice took to Planet Honda in Union NJ. Cost: close to $5000.00 After service, the transmission had only 6 quarts instead of 8.2 as required by owner’s manual. Engine on the first week start to kind of choking between 58 and 65mph, second week VTM-4 and Engine lights went on, took back to Planet Honda after consulting a Honda technician who said it could be a valve adjustment too tight . The diagnostics were misfiring on coils 1, 4&5. They confirm the codes, and stated nothing was wrong with the valve adjustment, if they had to open it I would have to pay again (it is under warranty),that I should replace 1, 4 and 5. When I told them that #5 was brand-new then they change the answer to replace only 1 & 4, or better, yet should replace all 6 coils. They want over $900.00 for service& parts, just the coils they want $106.00 each. I paid with taxes from another Honda dealer $51.78 for the coil, I decline their price, order the remaining 5 coils and change myself. Lights went on again and engine still choking. Back to Honda explain the problems to Mark the service director. Got a call a couple days later from the service advisor saying they clear initial code when I brought the car in, and the lights went on again so they did a valve adjustment again. Went to pick up the car and cross into Mark and asked him who would pay for the coils since the replacement seems not to be necessary. He said that was no problem with the car, no lights gone on and no valve adjustment was done and walked away. He came back to the service adviser desk and repeated himself saying the opposite the service advisor had told me on the phone and in person and, if the problem persist they would had to start from scratch as a new problem or I should look for other place for service, regarding the reimbursement of the coils they could not do anything because I did that on my own even though they advised me to and, want over $900.00 for it. After all this insult he sat down on the advisor’s desk and right at my face erased the part on description of services where was “readjust valves as a precautionary measure” to “ Checked the valves as a precautionary measure” and add at the end “ Valve adjustment OK. Then he ripped of the printout and print the one he changed handle me over and walk away without saying anything else. Bottom line, by their advice all coils were changed and choking symptoms and engine lights still happen and, after the last visit where Mark said NO valve adjustment were done, no lights went on again, I been driving the car for over a week and no choking, no lights and the engine valve is a bit nosier than the first adjustment and, yes the way I see they did the valve adj again but denied because they don’t want to pay me back for their mistake and admitted they were wrong. I will never go back to that place again unless is for problems related with their service that are under warranty by them. Not so much because the service on the car since we are human beings and make mistakes but for the ruddiness of someone with a position of service director and the fact they don’t want to say they were wrong and that my $5000.00 is like nothing. More

Friendly just to captivate you well after being mislead by RAFAEL CASTIBLANCO from a 500$ monthly payment to a 650$ monthly payment ! i was told 500 the first day and being that i d well after being mislead by RAFAEL CASTIBLANCO from a 500$ monthly payment to a 650$ monthly payment ! i was told 500 the first day and being that i didnt have the full deposit that day i was able to go home in a 2012 crosstour and come back 2 days later to bring the remaining balance and finish off my paperwork. so im sitting with the very PLEASANT LEVI from finance. and hes going through the details and says 650.. right away i had him contact RAFAEL. which agreed he had said 500 at first. so at this point im ready to blow a gasket and mentioned several times i wanted to cancel and im not signing nothing. to make a long story short . THIS TECHNIQUE OF SCAMMING PEOPLE INTO "DEALS" IS ABSURD. OBVIOUSLY THEY LET ME WALK AWAY THINKING ONE THING AS A HAPPY NEW DRIVER OF A NEWER VEHICLE. YET 2 DAYS LATER THEY HIT YOU WITH DIFFERENT NUMBERS KNOWING THAT CONSUMERS ARE LIKING THEIR NEW PURCHASE AND WILL MAJORITY OF THE TIME CONTINUE WITH THE PROCESS LIKE MYSELF. BUT I DID NOT SETTLE FOR 650 INSTEAD I WALKED WITH A 580 MONTHLY PAYMENT WHICH IS MANAGABLE BUT INSANE. I THOUGHT ROUTE 22 HONDA WAS BAD, PLANET HONDA STOLE THE COOKIES WITH THIS 1. NOT EVEN SUPERMAN IN THEIR COMMERCIALS CAN SAVE THEM. RAFAEL CASTIBLANCO LACKS COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND JUST USES EVASIVE AND MANIPULATIVE WORDS TO DISTRACT BUYERS FROM THE MONEY PART OF THINGS. OF COURSE ITS ALL NICE AND DANDY AT FIRST TRYING TO CONVINCE YOU TO TEST DRIVE A CAR WITHOUT EVEN EXPLAINING NUMBERS OR RUNNING YOUR CREDIT. ONCE THEY SEE YOUR INTEREST LEVEL IN A CAR THEY HAVE GOT YOU. CASTIBLANCOS SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE / RUDE / AND AT TIMES GAVE OFF BAD BODY LANGUAGE AFTER I BOUGHT UP CERTAIN QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO PAYMENTS AND APR. AFTER THIS DISASTER OF DAY ! I FIGURED I WOULD ASK FOR SOME NEW H ONDA CARPETS OR SOME KIND OF GOODBYE GIFT SO I ASKED JAIME I DONT KNOW WHATS HIS ROLL IN ALL OF THIS. I ASKED JAIME FOR SOME KIND OF "SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE GIFT", AND NEEDLESS TO SAY I WALKED OUT OF THE PLACE WITH A KEY CHAIN. I WILL NEVER EVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO ANY OF THE HONDA DEALERS ON ROUTE 22. RAFAEL CASTIBLANCO GETS A THUMBS DOWN FROM ME IF I CAN RATE THIS LESS THAN A STAR I WOULD ! exceptional experience After having purchased an Accord in December of last year, the bar was set pretty high for the people at Planet Honda when I went in there early Augus After having purchased an Accord in December of last year, the bar was set pretty high for the people at Planet Honda when I went in there early August to purchase a Civic for my daughter. Suffice to say, they did not disappoint. The Manager, Eddie Amorin, is always a delight to work with, and he upped the ante after our last transaction by being equally affable, helpful, insightful and willing hour after hour to go the extra mile, no matter what the challenge or question. I cannot say enough good things about Eddie. He truly makes buying a car a pleasurable experience. And he is the LEAST hard sell of anyone I have ever encountered in the field. He is dedicated solely to getting you the deal you want and the car you need. After working through the particulars and helping us decide what was in our best interest, he passed us over to Steve March, the actual salesman who handled the transaction. Through serious indecision on our part, deciding which model to choose (and he handled our indecision professionally, helpfully and patiently), he gave constructive input and, like Eddie, never appeared to be putting his own best interest after ours. It was almost like dealing with a family member who wanted nothing but the best for us, and with strong consideration for my initially stated price parameters. He never tried to "upsell" me. Even when we had some intense miscommunication with my insurance people on the phone, a conversation that took nearly an hour and almost quashed the sale, he stood by us to offer advice and listen patiently to our questions. He also enhanced our entire experience with this stellar dealership. After we finally worked through all the particulars we were again visited by Eddie (who spoke with us several times during the process) who wanted to make sure that all was going smoothly. We then went through finance and I spoke with Delio Coutinho, who went through various service options with us. As with Steve and Eddie, there was zero pressure here. He simply visited all options to make me aware of them, discussing them in detail and then throwing me the ball. Considering that by now it was very late and we were all pretty exhausted, he handled the entire transaction very capably and we left there exactly with what we wanted. Thanks to all at Planet Honda for another amazing experience. A few weeks later I was pleased to refer three friends to this dealership, one of whom already has purchased a vehicle and the other two are considering. The one who purchased echoed my praise and thanked me for sending her there. Exceptional job, guys.... More
