Porsche Princeton responded

Customer came in on 4/19/2019 with a 2002 Boxster S for the diagnosis of two complaints. 1. Speaker bar behind headrest is cutting out and has static. 2. Cup holder is jammed and will not operate. The first complaint was diagnosed right at the sound bar by the connector. Faulty sound bar needs to be replaced. The second concern was diagnosed right at the center dash area. Cup holder broken and needs replacement. The following day the customer called and accused the dealership for the emblem on the front hood coming loose and off the car on the way home. The Dealership never did anything in front of the car nor did we touch the hood. Since both the customer and the vehicle had never been here before and there is no history with our dealership, decided to run a Carfax only to see that vehicle had been at another dealership in north jersey prior and there was also an accident reported to the front of the vehicle. So I wonder if the collision repair to the front of the vehicle could have had an influence on the emblem in the front of the vehicle on the hood. The Dealership called the customer and to explain that we did not touch the front of the car and could not be responsible for the emblem coming loose.

I feel it is necessary to respond to the dealer's response.The accident the dealer is referring to was repaired in October of 2018. I had been driving the car since and I did not have any issues with the emblem. All dealers check the condition of the vehicle prior to writing the service ticket and note any issues on the ticket. I am sure they would have noted it if the emblem was missing or coming loose. It is odd that it happened right after I brought the vehicle to this dealership and did not happen when I took the vehicle to the other dealership in North Jersey. I brought the car here because they quoted me a lower diagnostic fee than the other dealership. To add further, when I brought the issue to the attention of this dealership, they not only did not want to address the issue, but quoted me a price of $170 for the emblem. I found the same part on the internet for $70. This obviously means that their cost would be less than $70. They could have offered to replace it for a reduced price as a good will gesture.
