The first three years and 50000 miles- our car was great. At around 64000 miles, during a routine oil change we noted a weird noise and were told the engine was shot. We were told we couldn't drive it and were given a rental. It took well over a month for the new engine to come. Thank goodness for the 100000 mile power train warranty. At our next oil change, the service department noted an oil leak.
We had a family vacation planned, and as this is currently our only vehicle, we were again grateful for a rental. Turns out the oil pan on the new engine was defective. SHEESH. When the car was returned to us, we quickly noted another noise. When we opened our trunk we found the liner was disassembled with nuts and bolts just lying there. Took it back and we were told the interior is so rusted they can't reattach the unit. WHAT? They ended up zip-tying it. No Lie! This is a car that is parked inside daily. How can the inside of the trunk frame be that bad?
We are now looking for not only one new vehicle but two. And probably not a Hyundai.
