AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! It happened I never wrote any bad reviews in the past and just never really felt like my comments and experience might be particularly useful to a It happened I never wrote any bad reviews in the past and just never really felt like my comments and experience might be particularly useful to anybody. The truth actually is I've never gotten such a bad and by all means disappointing experience anywhere else in my entire life. So, this is what anybody thinking about buying a vehicle at Serra Volkswagen should know before coming or contacting this place. Last month, I was in the market for a 2017 VW Touareg Wolfsburg Edition. Using cars.com, I found the vehicle I was looking for posted on Serra's website. I send these guys an email immediately. I was not going to play any games or so. I was very serious about the purchase and ready to come from VA (my hometown is over 700 miles away from Birmingham). As soon as the price was right and I got approved for an auto loan, I committed to buying the vehicle and left deposit ($1000) over the phone. The sales manager I was dealing with was VINCENT LAVENDER. I was told that they are gonna put a sold sign with my name on this vehicle I was going to buy and will make it ready for delivery which we scheduled on June 23rd. So, I took a day off from my job and even pre-paid for a rental car. This all was happening within a week from a scheduled delivery. On June 19th (Wednesday), Vincent called me and said that he's apologizing but the Touareg I left a deposit on has been totaled. Totaled! His explanation was that their car detailer/lot attendant was taking the vehicle into the recon which, as he said, is just across the street, and he was hit by another vehicle. It turned out, he is now in the hospital and only God knows if he is going to stay alive. OMG! I was left with lots of questions, like, for example, why would you wash and vac the vehicle FOUR days before an actual delivery? Moreover, I was never provided with any kind of evidence of the accident like photos, any kind of report, etc. So, it all looked reeeealy suspiciously to me, but anyways, they returned me a deposit and I did not mean to give them any complains or a hard time because of an incident. Eventually, these guys just tried to kind of walk away from everything and did not even mean to possibly offer me any other vehicle on their lot to somehow compensate for what has happened. I had a solid impression that no one intends to continue any business with me. Anyways, I kept looking, and within a week I was at another VW dealership - not too far away from home - where I was ready to purchase a vehicle from their lot. Much to my surprise, their sales manager provided me with an unbreakable evidence coming from VW system and a Carfax that the "totaled" Touareg from Serra VW was actually never totaled! It was SOLD to another customer! And it happened on June 17th within a few days after I left a deposit and they said they are gonna place a "SOLD" sign on a vehicle with my name! WHAT A DIRTY LIE! A CRASH ON A ROAD.. A GUY "SUFFERING IN A HOSPITAL..." WHAT WAS ALL THAT ABOUT, FOLKS?! So I called Vincent as soon as I could, and asked him to ask his general manager to call me back. I did not indicate that I know anything about what truly happened. And guess what? Of course, no one has EVER called me back! Neither no one has ever compensated my expenses I spend for a rental car, interest charge I paid to the bank (since I never used a check I got), and a hotel reservation. They just don't care about anything else - even their NAME - but money! TO ANYBODY READING THIS POST, THIS PLACE IS JUST A TOTAL FAKE that does not deserve to have a VW name on it! It's running on dishonesty, greed, and lie! They put their own money interest first NO MATTER what they SAY, what they PROMISE or what they PUT their signature next to! I think the paper they put the numbers on worth more than what they say to you! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! Unless you want to waste your time, money or what to see how the true liars looks like! Serra volkswagon Service manager was friendly I was unhappy because I felt some price goughing ex I was told my n80 evap valve is bad and its a 415.00 charge, it take Service manager was friendly I was unhappy because I felt some price goughing ex I was told my n80 evap valve is bad and its a 415.00 charge, it takes maybe 10 min to replace and the part is 20.00 online its shops like this why I regret buying a volkswagon , plus you charge me 145.00 just ti evaluate the problem, then charge me for re-installing the headlight housing simply because I didnt push it all the way in, I wont be back to serra volkswagon thats fir sure they take advantage of customers More
