Southland Dodge was opened in July 1968 by Joe Teuton Jr., Jeff Teuton, and Dennis Oncale. Joe and Dennis were experienced auto technicians at Downtown Auto Service on Lafayette St, and Jeff was a college graduate in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. They were also avid drag racers, and they were all under 30 years of age. The first location at 505 Sunset Ave featured a one-car showroom and a 10 car parking lot. Their racing background helped them to sell lots of Dodge Superbees, Chargers, and Challengers in the early years.

Brought my truck in the Southland Dodge. Had moisture coming in the back of the cab. Have water stains on my headliner. The mechanic look at it checked everything out ordered the parts need it. Parts came in the next day took my truck there and they took it to the back right away. Gave me a loaner vehicle to use while my truck is shop. They took care of the problem gave me a call and said my truck was ready. These guys and gals go above and beyond to make sure the customer satisfied. Great customer service as always. More
