As soon as I walked on the lot, I was greeted by David Young, my salesman. He was courteous and friendly throughout my test drives and eventual purchase. David makes an effort to engage his customers in Young, my salesman. He was courteous and friendly throughout my test drives and eventual purchase. David makes an effort to engage his customers in a positive way, not just talking about cars, models, specs, etc. but finding common ground that made me feel like an individual, not just a number. I'm sure his 17 years at Publix supermarkets contribute greatly to his amazing skill as a salesman! As we completed two test drives and discussed vehicles, we also discovered that he had owned the exact same car I was trading in, our Publix connection and that my Father and his Grandfather both fought in Korea. My only complaint throughout the process was I felt pushed to buy that minute and even after explaining my reason for needing to deal directly with my own financial institution, I was still pushed by the "invisible boss" David had to keep consulting with. I never met this person. After obtaining my loan the next day at my financial institution, I came in to complete my purchase and was greeted by David and and a new salesperson named Colin that David was training him on paperwork. After signing paper forms, I was ushered into the finance office to complete more electronic forms while David and Colin topped my new car off with gas double checked it for cleanliness and copied my radio presets from my old car. I admit to not liking the financial department so much. I was immediately scolded about NOT dealing directly through the dealer to obtain my loan as they deal with my lender. I feel that by explaining in detail the day before WHY I had to get my loan myself, that this would not be brought up. It was repeated several more time, not angrily, but more in a accusatory tone. The person I was dealing with had to excuse himself and his boss replaced him. I didn't care much for the boss, and I didn't get his name. I was in escape mode and st wanted out of there now. David and Colin showed me the setup for the Android system, how to use it, details about service intervals, controls and all that fun stuff. I really enjoyed both David and Colin! So, overall pretty positive, but I wish that the dealers, this includes all the ones I'd been to, would stop with the ridiculous, old, tired game of "let me talk to the boss" whether the price is being negotiated or financial options discussed. Stop with the complaints about who the customer chose to obtain their loan from! Yes, I get that you all dealt with my lender regularly. My situation was not one your dealership could have solved. As soon as that was made clear, no subtle complaints or snide comments should have been forthcoming. it is demeaning to me as a potential buyer to listen to this pure BS. this does NOT reflect negatively on either David Young or Colin. I feel that David has mastered the art of the personal touch, he has cheerfully answered any questions I've asked about since my purchase. More
