Hi Van, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your recent experience and appreciate the opportunity to provide some clarification. Caleb was assisting with the lease buyout process as it is typically handled through Hyundai Motor Finance. In most cases, HMF requires the dealership to act as an intermediary. This means the dealership purchases the vehicle from HMF for the buyout price and then sells it to you. You are still able to use your preferred lender for financing, which Caleb was working to arrange. You mentioned a “markup” and concern that Caleb was trying to make a commission. To clarify, what may have come across as a markup is actually a standard administrative fee applied to all purchases, including lease buyouts. There is no commission paid on lease buyouts, and Caleb would not have personally profited from the transaction. We understand how this process might not have been fully clear during your interaction, and we appreciate your patience. If HMF allows a direct buyout without involving a dealership, that is something you can certainly do. However, if the process must go through a dealership, certain steps must be followed since Hyundai retains ownership of the vehicle until it is officially purchased by a retailer. Thank you for responding to my review. Thank you for clearing up the issue, that it was my misunderstanding of the process. I will take that credit. I will address this in the order that you responded to my reviews. I understand Caleb was was trying to closeout the lease, but I told Caleb I had already secured financing. I had to tell him that 3 times, as he was still trying to push to closing of the lease buyout. No misunderstanding there, I wasn't going to let Caleb run my credit again, to the same credit union that had already approved me. My misunderstandings there? You stated, there was no benefits for Caleb in this transaction, but he told me that only he could closeout the lease, so that the dealership could sell it back to me with administrative fees. Truth is, I was never given the other option to purchase direct from the manufacturer without the fees. That last option wasn't explained until the very end of the misunderstanding, with my credit union on the phone with Caleb. The credit union was working for my best interest, not the dealership. That's my misunderstandings? If Caleb would have had a conversation with me 1st, then there wouldn't have been any confusion about the lease buyout process. My thing is, if it didn't matter to Caleb and he didn't get anything out of it. Why was he pushing so hard, even with my objection to push for that sell. Please respond to those issues I've had at your dealership. It's easy to put it off on me as a misunderstandings, but you did not respond to the underlined problem of what I just responded to.
