What began with Bill Suntrup opening the first dealership in the 1960s has blossomed into a multi-generational, family-run automotive empire. Just a decade after Bill launched his first dealership, his brother Don joined him, and together, they laid the foundation for what would become the Suntrup Automotive Group.

Bill's sons, Chris and Tom, are partners in Suntrup West County Volvo, with Tom also serving as President and CEO of Suntrup Ford Kirkwood, Suntrup Buick GMC in St. Peters, and Suntrup Ford Westport.
On the other side of the family tree, Don’s children, Butch and Craig, are proud partners in Suntrup Nissan/Volkswagen, Suntrup Kia, Suntrup Hyundai, and BMW of West St. Louis. As Craig Suntrup reflects, "We all started early in the business, around age 12, doing the grunt work—washing cars, cleaning parts, and painting walls."

We had the pleasure to meet Amanda Trip two weeks ago. It was 6 pm on a Friday and she worked hard to find something for us. We returned again at 6 in the evening on a Monday. I had time to provide her with a clearer picture and by jove! she came through!! By the time we left we had purchased a 2026 Kia Nero HEV! Given the gazillion hybrid vehicles out there it was perfect! I knew from the minute we met her she could do it and of course she did! It was just what we were looking for! I can't say enough about her professionalism and her as a simply terrific person! We need more like her. I would give her a ten if possible! Thank you, Amanda along with Jim in finance! I had such a great experience buying my new Kia Sportage! Kris "Krispy" Portnoy was absolutely awesome from start to finish.
