What began with Bill Suntrup opening the first dealership in the 1960s has blossomed into a multi-generational, family-run automotive empire. Just a decade after Bill launched his first dealership, his brother Don joined him, and together, they laid the foundation for what would become the Suntrup Automotive Group.

Bill's sons, Chris and Tom, are partners in Suntrup West County Volvo, with Tom also serving as President and CEO of Suntrup Ford Kirkwood, Suntrup Buick GMC in St. Peters, and Suntrup Ford Westport.
On the other side of the family tree, Don’s children, Butch and Craig, are proud partners in Suntrup Nissan/Volkswagen, Suntrup Kia, Suntrup Hyundai, and BMW of West St. Louis. As Craig Suntrup reflects, "We all started early in the business, around age 12, doing the grunt work—washing cars, cleaning parts, and painting walls."

They were all very helpful in making sure I was satisfied with my vehicle choice. We had to bring our grandson with us when we picked up our vehicle and they all went out of their way to entertain him while with my vehicle choice. Really felt like a priority to them trying to find our new family car before we welcome our third child later this month. The model of the car we wanted was not in stock at their location, but they worked new family car before we welcome our third child later this month.
