First, I understand that this is a business but it is frustrating when you walk into a dealership with a specific down payment and monthly payment in mind and you are asked to come up with amounts much larger than you stated you could afford. I've purchased cars in the past and know that this is a normal routine but it is frustrating. Second, after Tyler gave me the keys, he asked me if I knew how to do the remote start. I thought it was very thoughtful of him to check and offer to show me, but when he tried to show me, the remote would not work. Several of the service guys who brought the car up from detailing it checked it out and said that the hood sensor was the problem and if I had an extra $250 they could fix it right now. The van was still under warranty and Tyler assured me that it would be covered. Needless to say, my heart sunk when the service guys made this comment. I'd already put down $250 more on the down payment than I'd originally offered and planned for. I thought this was rather unprofessional. And while discussing the down payment, I had $500 cash so when I had to come up with another $250 to make the payment requested, I used my debit card to cover this. As it turns out, I found out several days later that when they processed the card, they credited my account for $250 rather than debit it. Tyler contacted me about the sensor repair and also told me I needed to come up to get this matter clarified. He said that if I came up Friday (Nov. 22) that I could get both things taken care of. He stated that the service dept was open until 6 so I could come up after work. I drove to the dealership, arrived about 345pm and was told by the service dept that it was too late to get the van looked at as the service techs left at 430. I was, needless to say, irritated that I'd driven all that way to find out that it was a wasted trip. I left with an appointment to come in tomorrow. Due to the frustration of the situation, I left and failed to go into the sales area and get the money situation taken care of. So... As far as Tyler is concerned, I was very pleased with working with him. As far as the entire experience went in general... no nearly as good as I'd hoped but I do love my minivan so in the end, I'd would refer others to come here and seek out Tyler for a salesman. More
