I contracted them about a car they are advertising via eBay. While they were very friendly on the phone, I learned that their policy is NOT to allow prospective buyers to take their cars to a local mechan eBay. While they were very friendly on the phone, I learned that their policy is NOT to allow prospective buyers to take their cars to a local mechanic for an independent evaluation. Their reason for this is they claim that cars have come back to them "damaged" by these mechanics. They suggested instead some mobile inspection service that will come to the dealership & perform a NON-MECHANICAL vehicle inspection. So they expect you to pay top dollar for their cars without the benefit of an independent opinion beforehand. I would not want to purchase a used car sight-unseen, or travel a long distance to inspect a car, without the option to have an independent mechanical evaluation as well. If you are considering purchasing a vehicle from them, ask if you can take the car to be inspected up front before paying for it. In my case, the answer was no. More

It is disappointing I have to write a negative review of the Toy Barn. I purchased a used Porsche Boxter from them and I was very pleased with their professionalism and with the experience. The vehicle seemed to be in excellent condition and I was assured by Justin the car had been thoroughly inspected and was in excellent condition. There were a couple minor issues they promised to fix later and said they would let me know when they had the necessary parts. I was a little concerned because the dealer is several hours drive from my home but Justin assured me it would be no issue. In fact, he stated any time I needed service I simply needed to call and schedule service Mon-Sat and they would arrange for a loaner vehicle while it was being serviced. I was impressed at how focused they were on satisfying customers and thought I had made a great choice. When I drove the car home I noticed the speedometer was reading far off the actual speed, the following day I began hearing excessive brake squealing, and a day later noticed oil leakage where I kept the car parked. I contacted the Toy Barn and explained the issues and was told service was too backed up and it would be nearly a month before they could even consider looking at it. I spoke with Justin and he indicated they could only look at the car on weekdays, loaners were not part of their service, and he indicated the oil leakage was likely a major engine (rear seal) failure and was not their problem and brakes are maintenance items -- also not their problem. While I expect a used car might have some issues, it is clear these issues were known and covered up (a little brake squeal compound and an oil leak that isn't noticeable unless the car sits in one spot for a day). Clearly this is an "anything to get your money" outfit and the customer service prior to the sale is all for show. If you buy here, get the vehicle thoroughly inspected prior and don't expect any service on anything you might miss in the inspection. Very sad... they have great potential, a nice location, an interesting selection of vehicles... just no ethics. More

I bought a 2005 DINAN M3 from these losers and it was the worst decision I've ever made. When I called, MATT had told me that the car was in mint condition and was running perfect with no defect codes. I then asked for a carfax report which he said I would have to pay for so I had the vin ran at a local dealership and it said that the car had 5 owners. I then called back and MATT said that it only had two so I called him out on his first lie and he was very apologetic and blamed it on a fictitious person who doesn't work there or exist. I asked for a car inspection and code report and once it came I stupidly bought the car over the phone. Once I picked it up I noticed a very loud rattle about an hour later. The next day I had to replace the accelerator chip for $500 dollars due to a faulty vanos and loose cam bolts. I then looked at the code sheet they gave me and it was for a different M3. I am now looking at a $4,500 repair to bring this car back to normal. This was the WORST experience I've ever been through regarding any car type transaction. These guys buy faulty broken cars and sell them at a premium. More

I do not recommend buying a vehicle from The Toy Barn. Very unprofessional and they misrepresent the vehicle to the buyer. They will not stand by their word if you have an issue. I bought a 69 Camaro from these guys. They started out as very responsive. But once I got my car delivered to me the customer service quit. When I got the car, the car keys did not open the doors. I emailed them several times to try to get it right. No responce. I spent over $35,000. with them. Be careful if you are not local. More
