The whole staff at David Bruce Toyota was friendly and helpful. My sales representative did a good job helping me to find the right car to purchase. I believe it is a great car at a fair price and I even purchased the extended bumper to bumper warranty. The reason I rated the dealership experience so low is the fact that the dealership does not abide by the State of Illinois mask mandate for employees and customers. My sales representative Janelle Hindmand wore a mask the whole time she worked with us as did the finance manager, however most of the sales staff, all of the cashier staff (when interacting with me) and some customers were not wearing masks. Please note that the dealership was somewhat busy and I had to sit in the customer waiting area for a couple of hours while I observed the sales floor and people walking by me. I sent my wife to wait in our car to reduce her chances of possible exposure to covid. My wife and I are in our 70s and have gotten the first covid shot and are waiting for the second. Being in a high risk group of death from covid we take mitigation very seriously. We use instacart shoppers at grocery stores and order everything else on Amazon. The only reason I went out to buy a car is that my daughter's car died and I gave her my pristine 2010 Corolla S with 70K miles to her. I had not planned on upgrading my car until I was fully vaccinated for covid but necessity brought me to dealerships now to purchase a car. The dealers I visited in Tinley Park (my home town) were fully covid mitigation compliant. I am really disappointed in David Bruce Toyota upper management for not respecting their customer's health (life or death matters) by not even following the state of Illinois mask laws. "Under the revised mandate, in effect until at least March 26, people over age 5 are required to wear a face covering in any indoor space where someone from another household is present, regardless of physical distancing, and outdoors if it is not possible to stay 6 feet from others. My wife and I will be concerned about having contracted covid at David Bruce Toyota for the next two weeks. I would recommend that all customers avoid David Bruce like the plague until after they get vaccinated. More
