Checked in early. Added filter after check in with no problem. Took in two vehicles. When first done we left for errand. Staff called when second vehicle was done. I don't typically leave negative reviews, which is why I felt it was important to share my experience. My initial visit did not leave a good impression. I had a scheduled service appointment, and althoug felt it was important to share my experience. My initial visit did not leave a good impression. I had a scheduled service appointment, and although replacement parts needed to be ordered, no record of my visit was created. When I called a week later to check on the status, I was told there was no documentation of my appointment or the parts that had supposedly been ordered. This resulted in unnecessary delays before the repair was finally completed nearly a month later. Unfortunately, the issue did not end there. Less than two weeks after the repair, I had to return because the same problem persisted. I was told the technicians were unable to reproduce the issue, so no repairs were made, despite my providing a video clearly showing the problem occurring. I've been a customer of Stivers Ford for years and only began servicing my vehicle with Toyota after purchasing my Toyota in 2025. Based on my experience so far, I'm seriously considering returning to Stivers for future service because the level of communication and follow-through I've experienced here has been disappointing. The most frustrating part is that I purchased an extended warranty for added peace of mind, yet I don't feel I've received the level of service or support I expected. I understand that some issues can be difficult to diagnose, but accurate documentation, clear communication, and confidence that customer concerns are being taken seriously are all reasonable expectations. I took my Hylander hybrid in for oil change and tire rotation. Before the appointment my AC went out. They were able to get that fixed, just in time for the hot Fourth of July. I brought my truck to Toyota of Des Moines for its first paid oil change after purchasing it new. I had been disappointed with the sales department and didn’t expect to return, but the service department ch paid oil change after purchasing it new. After a bad experience at Dewy Dodge in Ankeny—where they installed the wrong oil filter, causing an oil leak and showed little concern—I was hesitant to trust anyone with our vehicles. However, Toyota of Des Moines had never made a mistake on previous services, so I decided to give them a try. Even though I accidentally showed up a week early for my appointment, they worked me into their schedule without issue. The service was quick, professional, and done correctly. Most importantly, there were no leaks or problems afterward. While my opinion of the sales department remains the same, the service department has earned my trust, and I’ll be returning for future service. More
