My only disappointment with the service center is that I tell the check in person not to add any windshield wiper fluid because the hose has a leak. Plus I put a note on the dash. What should have been a reasonable cost to replace the front struts on my Highlander, the price quickly ballooned to $1,600 before taxes! The service agent did not seem to want to help with alternatives, saying it is what it is. Toyota parts were too expensive, so I went with Monroe struts with a lifetime warranty. The model of those struts are around $200 each, Toyota of DM charged me $416 each!!! That did not include labor… a hefty $770. Basically, the markup was double in cost. With 115K miles on my Highlander, this visit to Toyota of DM is the last. I will be going to a non-dealer auto service from now on, and I will drive up to Toyota in Ames for my next purchase. More
Getting the warranty work completed is great.
