Subject: Formal Complaint and Request for Partial Refund – Invoice # 543428 Toyota of Downtown LA, My name is Jon Won, and I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I recei – Invoice # 543428 Toyota of Downtown LA, My name is Jon Won, and I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received at your dealership on May 1, 2025, regarding my 2015 Toyota Venza. I am requesting a partial refund of 50% of the $905.00 charged, due to the following unacceptable circumstances: 1. Excessive Delay and Poor Communication: Despite arriving at 9:00 AM and being told the battery replacement and inspection would be handled promptly, I waited over seven hours without meaningful updates. I personally checked the service area after 2.5 hours and found that the vehicle had not even been touched after 3 hours. 2. Transportation Mismanagement: I was forced to arrange my own transportation multiple times due to your shuttle service's failure to coordinate properly. After waiting over two hours on the street for a promised ride that never arrived, I had no choice but to pay for a taxi out of pocket. 3. Unjustified Charges: Upon returning to Monterey, I consulted with a local Toyota-certified service center (Victory Toyota of Monterey), which confirmed that the charges on your invoice were excessive and not aligned with standard rates for the services rendered. The battery replacement and diagnostic procedures should not have amounted to $905.00. 4. Emotional and Physical Distress: My family and I were on vacation, and this ordeal caused significant stress, exhaustion, and disruption to our plans. The lack of professionalism and disregard for customer care was unacceptable. Given the above, I am requesting a refund of at least $452.50, which I believe is a fair and reasonable resolution. If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will be compelled to escalate the issue to Toyota Corporate Customer Relations, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and relevant consumer protection agencies. Please respond within 10 business days from the date of this letter. I hope we can resolve this matter amicably and professionally. The dealership was well kept. The young sales person was very sweet. I’ve been buying cars for over 40 years plus and this is why I use a broker. I call before I get there and my car and finance paperwork is ready. We stopped just to test drive and the salesperson was able to match the deal my broker had offered me but the time there was not what I would do again. More
