Aftermarket purchases absolutely have an impact on a new car deal.Profit on a deal can come solely from aftermarket purchases alone. I believe I was given such a great deal on the new truck that the only way you guys were going to make a profit was to make sure the profit came from an extra warranty purchase and or service contracts. Of course no one there will ever admit that it is the truth about car sales. Why do I know this? Because my son was a car salesman for years. That’s where most of his commission came from. Selling new cars was not profitable. But selling worthless warranty contracts made him lots of money. So when I saw the great deal Brandon was giving me on a new Tacoma it didn’t surprise me that the deal suddenly fell apart because I didn’t want any extras. My family had a good chuckle when I read the text out loud in my living room with my family and friends as well as my son. He knew the deal wasn’t going to go through unless I did buy those extras. There wouldn’t be any reason to sell it to me. But I do love my tacoma. Just wish I wouldn’t be lied to or led on just to get a deal started. I know I’m already stating the obvious about car sales but maybe somebody will get some satisfaction from reading this or maybe Toyota in Lancaster California will make it right with me. I don’t believe Brandon is so new to being a manager that he makes simple mistakes like that. My rebate went from 5500 to 5000 to 4000 then back to 5000 if I financed it myself. Interest went from 1.9 to 3.9 to me getting my own financing. It was exhausting how much everything changed. Couldn’t have imagined what it would have been like getting a fair value for my trade in. Especially on a weekend . Love my tacoma still. Best truck ever.
