Toyota of North Charlotte I brought my truck in on Wednesday. The service rep told me they would have the part in on Thursday. I was informed on Thursday that the part did no I brought my truck in on Wednesday. The service rep told me they would have the part in on Thursday. I was informed on Thursday that the part did not come in. Got a call Friday that they ordered the wrong part but it would be in later that day. Got a call Friday afternoon that the problem was not only this part but a rear bearing that would cost over $1200.00 plus the $450 for the sensor. I asked that the original part be put back on and that I would do the work myself. The service rep then asked me “WHAT PRICE IS FAIR FOR YOU TO DO THE JOB WITH US”! Unbelievable, I have never in 40 years had a car dealership/mechanic ask me what I thought was a fair price. That means that the price that they quoted was exorbitant and indeed it was. I told her I would pay 850 and was informed that it was too low. I had my mechanic (Firehouse, great service & fare) replace the bearing for $600.
