Terrible customer service, lost $2600 do to dealer error. We bought a used Jeep in 2018, and asked for a warranty to cover all major mechanical issues since the manufacturers warranty had expired. We were tol We bought a used Jeep in 2018, and asked for a warranty to cover all major mechanical issues since the manufacturers warranty had expired. We were told we were getting the best service contract we could buy for $2,444. Earlier in 2019 we find out the car needs almost $1200 in engine repairs (cam shaft, rocker and lifter arms). These repairs were done by a dodge dealership, after Toyota told us "we can't fix that here, but take it dodge and your warranty should cover it." Then find out our warranty only covers some electrical and a/c repairs. The finance rep that did our service contract, signed us up for a warranty that goes with a manufacturers warranty (which we did not have). So our $2,444 warranty was not only worthless but should have never been sold to us. After eventually getting ahold of the dealership (several weeks of trying), we finally talk to someone who says "that's not your fault, that never should have been sold to you, come by and we'll cancel it." So we make the 45 minute drive to go cancel it, and were not at all treated the way we should have been. The finance guy that came out to help, just walked by and said "how many miles are on the car" while walking passed us. Never said "hi" or "how are you", just how many miles and walks off. Then we just follow him to his office to sign the cancellation forms, when he gives us a form for a different customer. They never asked our names or anything. Just handed us a form to cancel someone elses warranty. After we correct them to get the right paperwork, we sign it, then ask if anything can be done about the $2,600 we lost in repairs and the cost of the warranty that we lost. His response with a smirk "Sure, we can sell you a new warranty to replace this one." No, let me ask my boss or the GM and maybe we can help someway. Just "we can sell you something else." Ridiculous. Before throwing a fit we walked out of that dealership for hopefully the last time. I'll add this about the service center to hopefully give future customers a heads up. We took our car back twice for an oil change/car wash. Both times we had scheduled appointments. The first visit took 2 hours and 20 minutes from my appointment time (which I was 10 minutes early for) before my car was ready. The second visit was 1 hour and 50 minutes. What's the point in scheduling an appointment? The finance rep we originally worked with is no longer there to tag or review (Brett). And the one that rudely cancelled it is not listed. Other than losing $2,600 and spending hours there waiting for an oil change, we had a good impression of the dealership, and felt we got a good deal on our car (before the warranty issue). But the way we were treated after this totally destroyed that image for us. Please be aware. This may have been a total one-time accident on their part, but it could happen again, and the way we were treated was totally unacceptable. More
