We recently took our 2001 Corolla - only 70K miles - in for service. The oil light and check engine was coming on - no other problems. We were told the car needed a $5300 engine!! Surprised, I asked for th for service. The oil light and check engine was coming on - no other problems. We were told the car needed a $5300 engine!! Surprised, I asked for the OBD2 diagnostic code. We were told P1349. Looked it up on the internet: there is a technical service bulletin that says it is a known VVTi acuator issue that can be solved for, at most, $500. When confronted, the mechanic could not answer basic questions about what he supposedly found, and claimed the car was "violently shaking and unsafe to bring it home" which is untrue. Rodney became more and more defensive ("I don't need no service bulletin"... "if you knew what was wrong why did you bring it here" and "why don't you fix it yourself." Manager knew right away they were caught in a bald-faced lie (perhaps they thought we'd buy a new Toyota for xmas?), and waived the $99 diagnostic fee. I would never deal with this dealership, and recommend you don't either. More
Test drove Camry XLE and received excellent service from James and the GM - David during the first visit. The price I was quoted was competitive in the Boston area and decided to buy from them despite few s James and the GM - David during the first visit. The price I was quoted was competitive in the Boston area and decided to buy from them despite few seeing few negative comments/experiences. However, when I went to close the sale, met a finance guy named Oliver, who was pushy, bit arrogant, and disrespectful; he almost made us walk out of the deal over not buying the extra care warranty he recommended. Just be careful and make sure you inform the sales consultant that either do not want to be harassed when signing the papers or walk out if it gets difficult. Otherwise, it was a hassle-free, smooth car purchase. More
I almost went with Watertown, despite my bad experience, simply because I wanted a Prius fast and they said they would be able to get it months ahead of other dealers. I'm glad I stayed away. My first s simply because I wanted a Prius fast and they said they would be able to get it months ahead of other dealers. I'm glad I stayed away. My first salesperson, from my round of test-driving, didn't know much about the car or the rest of the Toyota line. I was disgusted that I knew more about the features of the Prius and history of hybrid Toyota vehicles than he did. That didn't inspire my confidence at all. A few months later I went in again ready to buy that day for the right price. Rita was friendly enough, and helped fine-tune some options, but she seemed to have her hands tied (by management? finance?) on any movement in price. They were already higher than two other dealerships, but refused to budge despite the fact that I had my checkbook out. They don't seem too interested in making a sale. Perhaps the Prius is in such demand that they felt they could dig their feet in. Penny wise, but pound foolish, in my opinion. In the end, the dealership I went with was able to get the exact model/options I wanted within 12 weeks, just two weeks longer than Watertown said they could get the vehicle. More
Michael worked with me since I fisrt stepped into the dealership, I was very comfortable dealing with all the people I met there including sales representatives. The negotiations were comfortable and I dealership, I was very comfortable dealing with all the people I met there including sales representatives. The negotiations were comfortable and I reached the deal quickly and without any hassels. The delivery of the vehicle was handled very well and promptly. I am one happy customer. More
I found Craig pleasant, informative, confident but not pushy (really important to me). He thought, but did not guarantee, that he could get me a package 2 prius in about 2 months (other dealerships told m pushy (really important to me). He thought, but did not guarantee, that he could get me a package 2 prius in about 2 months (other dealerships told me anyone who said that was lying), and he did. (I would have loved a base model, and no waiting list, but that's not the dealership or the saleman's fault.) There's really no wiggle room for price on a Prius so I can't comment there, although I thought I was getting the all weather mats for free and ended up paying for them. (But I didn't bring this up since the bank check I brought already had that in it so it didn't seem worth it.) Craig was great about getting me the car, the registration (with just the plates, I didn't know I needed to bring the old registration), orientating me to the car, etc. in a few hours/on one day, no return trips required. I would recommend him, particularly if you are interested in a prius - he's been selling them since they first came out and so is both knowledgeable and connected. More
I picked Toyota of Watertown because it had a couple of different vehicles I was interested in that I had found on Cars.com. I walked in and was directed to a young salesman named Jason. He was friendly th different vehicles I was interested in that I had found on Cars.com. I walked in and was directed to a young salesman named Jason. He was friendly throughout the entire process, but never seemed terribly interested in selling me a car, a used car at that. There was a Corolla S that I was really interested in, but it was in the shop and wouldn't be ready for several days and I was in a rush. So directed me towards a 2006 Corolla LE with low miles and a moderate price, which I was able to talk down about $1000. He didn't every really put pressure on me, but he didn't really offer me any options and every time I asked a question he couldn't answer, he would tell me he'd find out and would disappear for 10-15 mins. But I would see him just shootin the breeze with his coworkers in the other room and then eventually make his way back to me. I decided to commit to the car by putting down the deposit and told them I would come back the next day with the final decision because I wanted to do some additional research to be sure I was getting a good deal. I informed Jason that I would be back the next day midmorning and he said he would be there starting at 9. I get there about 10:30 and he hasn't even gotten in for the day. His boss calls him and practically wakes him and tells him to come in to help me. After waiting for 30 mins for him to drive to work. He eventually came in reluctantly and we slowly worked through the paperwork and the delivery of the car out of state where I live, which he tells me he will do the following day. So I leave, several hours later he calls me to tell me that I need to drive back to the dealership to sign the TItle of all things. A 25 min drive mind you. Then the day he is suppose to deliver the car, he calls to tell me it cant happen and will have to be the following monday. Overall a friendly guy, but had me do so much extra leg work because he simply didn't seem to care. More
My friend recently purchased a car from this dealership. I was with her every step of the way so I was able to observe every aspect. I would 100% use this dealer to purchase a new car myself in the future. I was with her every step of the way so I was able to observe every aspect. After having three hours of our time wasted a this dealer, I feel it my duty to warm others. Wife and I were serious about getting a new Toyota RAV4, all cash deal. Walked in and got service right a dealer, I feel it my duty to warm others. Wife and I were serious about getting a new Toyota RAV4, all cash deal. Walked in and got service right away, took us through every detail, every option, etc. Test drive went well, so now we are on to getting a price. At this point, everything went into slow motion - it took us TWO HOURS to get a price out of them. Mostly this was because they asked dozen of questions of about what was important for us in the car - I think they just wanted to find out how high they could start. We had a trade in to which was appraised there; were warned though that 'the market was soft for manual transmissions'. Sure, sure. Finally, I think the guy just made up the numbers; the worst part was the MSRP was literally $3500 over the published MSRP for the vehicle! We would have had to start at about $8000 under the price they offered to get a fair deal - this is on 21K car! Waste of time, never go there. More

I knew which car I wanted and I had my own financing set up, but they strung me along for hours and kept pushing their own financing and protection-racket extended warranty crap. They were not flexible a up, but they strung me along for hours and kept pushing their own financing and protection-racket extended warranty crap. They were not flexible at all on price and offered nothing (literally nothing) for my trade in. I still bought the car because I wanted that car. the day before I picked it up, the salesman said it was "all set." When I arrived to pick the car up, it was "almost ready." It continued to be "almost ready" for three hours and forty five minutes. the salesman kissed my butt and made excuses all day but got nothing done. I finally took the car away before they were done cleaning it. When I complained to the manager about the poor service, he blew me off. DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU LIKE GO TO TOYOTA OF WATERTOWN. More
