Ripped off “under warranty” The experience started off in a very friendly and personable manner. During the test drive of the vehicle I ended up buying, we all heard a troubling The experience started off in a very friendly and personable manner. During the test drive of the vehicle I ended up buying, we all heard a troubling noise that we couldn’t identify, so they “had the shop take a look at it”. After the mechanic deemed that there was nothing wrong with the car, I expressed concern with buying it but was told “Don’t worry about it, we’ll give you a full warranty for the week and if you have any problems we’ll take care of you.” On the drive home I noticed a similar noise/vibration, so I took it back to the dealership a few days later. After spending all day in the shop, they informed my husband that it was a bent rim and that the repair would cost us several hundred dollars and would not be covered under warranty. I immediately contacted Gerard, who sold me the car and arranged the warranty. Gerard proceeded to raise his voice at me to tell me that I must have mangled the rim up myself and it wasn’t their responsibility. My husband spoke at length to both Gerard and Juan, the sales manager, who both said the repair would not be covered by the warranty that they gave us specifically to deal with this type of situation based off of test drive concerns. I can’t say enough positive things about the service team who gave us the repair at cost, but I would advise anyone considering a used car from Universal Nissan to go elsewhere, as the team was highly untrustworthy, and made us pay for repairs on a vehicle less than a week after I drove it off the lot. More
