Not sure if I recommend the dealership Kenny Akpan did a good job at the end of the day. There is this gentleman called Bouian (i might misspelled his name because never got his business Kenny Akpan did a good job at the end of the day. There is this gentleman called Bouian (i might misspelled his name because never got his business card and I asked for it) who should not be in contact with customers. He likes to play a "bad cop" role and tries to be hard on the customer. I don't know if it was only me but that is not the way you want to make a deal. He wanted me to commit to buy the car with no or insufficient information, wrong information online and misleading information about the credit rate (apparently the information online was not, again, correct or clear) Also you may want to review VW Downtown Chicago website which does not provide reliable information to the customer about the cars, the prices and the credit rate (I wrote a check to pay my car). It took me four hours, after three visits, to finish the deal, from 5.30 pm to 10pm. Not even a welcome or appreciation gift from VW!!! Would I recommend the dealership at this point? No. But I think it is not fair, yet, to penalize everybody. Dennis, used car sales manager, very nice, I spent 15 minutes to get the paperwork done with finance (i forget the nice gentleman's name) and Steve who I called at "Parts" to get my MudyBuddy. They make me feel as though I am their most important customer - they service my car on the day I need them to and they are efficient and keep me posted regularly on their progress. They provide me with a loaner car, and let me keep it for as long as the service takes. The service technicians are wonderful- they text me 2-3 times a day with updates. I will keep my VW forever just so I can get it serviced at Downtown VW. More

The only reason for it not being an "excellent" rating is due to the extra time it took to negotiate the final price -- having used the Alliant Car Buying Service (TrueCar based). Based on the listing for the car I desired being advertised as Certified Pre-Owned, but finding out at the dealer it isn't included in the price, it took a while to negotiate the out the door price I had understood it would be. Still, Chris, my sales agent, and Rich, the manager, worked with me in a patient, respectable, professional manner to close the deal. I never felt pressured to purchase "add-ons" and the finance rep understood the loan pre-approval I had from my credit union couldn't be beat. So, I Do recommend those looking for a new or used VW to check out this dealership - and ask for Chris! More
