When I arrived at t dealership's response requires clarification. I received an offer of $33,400 for my vehicle through the Bidbus auction platform. When I arrived at the dealership to complete the transaction, that offer was reduced to approximately $30,000. After further discussions, I proceeded with the sale — at a price lower than what was initially agreed upon — based on the dealership's representations regarding payment. I was told my check would be available on the 17th. Relying on that promise, I turned over my vehicle. When I followed up, I was informed the dealership would not release the check because they were still waiting for the title — a condition that was never clearly communicated before I handed over my car. What made this worse is that by this point, the dealership had already sold my vehicle to another buyer while continuing to withhold my payment. I eventually received my check — without the dealership ever having received the title — which directly contradicts the reason they gave for the delay and raises serious questions about whether that explanation was ever valid. The dealership's response here did not address a single one of these facts. Instead, it commented on me personally, which I found unprofessional and telling. If you are considering selling your vehicle, protect yourself. Get the final offer, payment date, and every condition for releasing your check in writing before handing over your keys. Compare offers with other dealers. And based on my experience, I would also caution anyone using Bidbus to thoroughly vet the winning dealership before completing any transaction — the auction platform connects you to the dealer, but once your car is in their possession, you are on your own. Do not let passive acceptance cost you your assets. More
