Took my car in for a popping noise that I could only hear when I turned my steering wheel, car had to be at a complete stop, in drive, turning left to right, right to left. LONG STORY SHORT, they replaced th when I turned my steering wheel, car had to be at a complete stop, in drive, turning left to right, right to left. LONG STORY SHORT, they replaced the front struts, because the spring broke. But when I got my car back, it sounded worse, so I realized they put wrong parts on, they did again three times total, over a 10+ day period, promised me a car loaner, then said no so promises, plural were broken and the manager, Sterling had attitudes with me for questioning and asking him to keep his promises about the car and noises. The third time in for same issue he says now that noise covered up a different noise but we can get you back in to fix it, he drives my car with me only in parking lot at 5 MPH so I couldn’t hear it that bad, but after I drove off it sounded like my car was scraping the ground it was so loud and frightening that I had to tow my car back in! They fixed that noise then called for me to pick up my car again, and guess what? Yes it was better then it was after they F’d my car up! But now my car still has the popping noise that I originally went in for and now my once quiet ride sounds like all tires are scraping and soft grinding noise. I texted in for help, they ignored me. I should give this place a 1 star because of what I went through and my car still sounds way worse than it did going it, they wasted almost three weeks on fixing something that any other garage could have done in an hour to two tops for a strut replacement, then I feel they did something else to my car to cause the grind noises. Very disappointed, BY THE Wy they, the manager and my rep both told me over and over that popping sound was normal and I had to live with it like that! Even though my car since I purchased new back in 2015 has NEVER MADE THAT SOUND! Did not feel welcomed, did not feel I could trust this place. More

Engine light came on and I spent over $200 for a diagnostic test for them to tell me that I need a new engine. A new engine the cost 13k not including taxes or labor to get it put in. They did not c diagnostic test for them to tell me that I need a new engine. A new engine the cost 13k not including taxes or labor to get it put in. They did not complete any other test before determining if I actually need an engine or not just assuming by one cylinder not having any compression. I also asked about just fixing that one cylinder and he said “it makes no sense it’ll just cost $500 less than replacing a whole new engine.” I took it to a local mechanic which ran a leak down test and is replacing one cylinder valve which didn’t have compression and clean the other 3 and the whole engine for just over 1,000. My car is back on the road like new! Lastly, I did 2 oil changes with them and I always had to go back because they always shorted me on oil. It’s like they want your car to get messed up to keep going back and/or to buy a car from them. More
The service department at Nanuet Volkswagon is truly terrible. I was stranded two hours from home in due to a defect in one of my Volkswagons rims and discovered that my tire iron was missing. Luc terrible. I was stranded two hours from home in due to a defect in one of my Volkswagons rims and discovered that my tire iron was missing. Lucky for me, a good Samaritan stopped to help me to get the rim off and the temp spare on. Upon taking the rim to Volkswagon of Nanuet and showing their Service Advisor Chrys Kenney he proceeded to immediately blame me for the problem with the rim pointing out that I must have hit something to damage it. There was no damage to the rim outer or inner edge, or center and only a suspicious crack in the middle of the rim between the inner edge and the standoff with no matching damage to the tire showing. I told Chrys that Mavis had looked at the tire and said that there was no damage to it and confirmed that there must have been a defect in the rim. Chrys then said that I should have Mavis replace the rim !?! I told Chrys that Mavis did not sell me the car! Chrys continued to deny this and even argued with me over it yelling at me to sit down. I then demanded to see the Service Manager, Sterling Mckenzie, I had to stand outside Sterling's office for him to bother to get off of the phone to speak to me. I know that Sterling heard his attendant yelling at me because we were right outside his office in the service intake area. Sterling consulted Chrys and ignored me. Then reiterated what Chrys had said and claimed that because of his expertise that if we dismounted the tire that we would see the damage to it. I asked him to show me but he would not dismount the tire. Then Sterling said that even though my VW extended warranty would not cover this as its considered a wear item my insurance would and there should be no deductible as its comprehensive. Big surprise, Sterling was completely wrong. In the end when pressed said the best he could do was cover $60 for something...but Volkswagon wants $661 for this rim and I've only had the car for two weeks. In the end there was no apology and no concern about his service attendant yelling at people or my defective rim or my missing tire iron, or the hours I was stranded by it. No one else at this dealership can be bothered to call or even ask what happened or even offer an apology for Chrys' behavior. This is my fourth Volkswagon but will likely be my last and even if its not I would never purchase one at Volkswagon of Nanuet again. More
