Hi Sierra, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear about the issues you’ve had with your vehicle and understand how frustrating a situation like this can be. That said, we do want to clarify a few important details to ensure accuracy. During your visit with us, we did not replace the crankshaft. The repair performed was a replacement of the crankshaft position sensor, which is a very different component. The sensor and the starter are located on opposite sides of the engine and do not directly interact in a way that would cause the type of failure you described. Your vehicle was diagnosed and repaired by our shop foreman, who is our most experienced technician. We stand behind the quality of his work and the accuracy of the repair that was performed at that time. Regarding your interaction with our team, we understand how discussions around diagnostic fees can be frustrating. However, the diagnostic fee is a standard part of the process to properly identify any issue, especially when a new and unrelated concern is presented. Jose was following standard procedure in explaining this, and while we regret if the conversation felt unpleasant, it was not our intention to be dismissive or unhelpful. Based on the information provided, the failure of the starter appears to be unrelated to the prior repair. External factors—such as extreme cold or internal component failure—can cause starters to seize or break, and unfortunately, that can lead to more extensive damage when it occurs. We always want to be a resource for our customers and would have welcomed the opportunity to inspect the vehicle again and work toward a resolution with you. If you’re open to it, we’d still be happy to review any documentation or findings with you directly. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best moving forward.
