Had probably one of the worst experiences possible at this dealership. Let me start by saying me and my fiancé purchased a new 2021 Mazda 3 in November. Prior to our trip to the dealership in November we this dealership. Let me start by saying me and my fiancé purchased a new 2021 Mazda 3 in November. Prior to our trip to the dealership in November we also visited the dealership in July to try and buy a Mazda but they did not have a car in stock that we wanted. We expressed interest in wanting to buy the car and asked the dealer to give us a call when one became available, however, we never received a call. This is when I made the decision to return to the dealership in November which was a horrible mistake. When we began negotiating with the sales manager Mohamed Shashin, we expressed multiple times we had already secured financing through our bank and since the rate was so low we would not finance through the dealership. After repeatedly telling Mohamed that they could not match the rate he insisted we tell him the rate and when we did he stated that would match the 2% financing rate and take a few hundred dollars off the MSRP but we would have to get the financing through the dealership or we would not receive the money off the sticker. I expressed several times to both the dealer and Mohamed that the 2% rate was almost unheard of and that i couldn’t believe they would be able to match it. I also reeterated that if the match was in fact not matched we would not purchase the car. Reluctantly we agreed to the terms and I left to pick up the trade in and required paperwork. Once I got back to the dealership the finance manager Frank began to question how we were members of our bank since it is exclusive to Military members, we explained how we became members and he insisted on showing proof of the loan or membership. After we resolved that issue he began to tell us before we even made it upstairs that there would be no way to get a 2% interest rate approval. I explained that the rate was part of the deal and there is no way it should have been offered to be matched if it was physically impossible. We ended up going upstairs anyway to finalize the deal since we had already run around multiple days in an attempt to buy the car and pick up the trade in to bring to the dealership. At the end of the day we ended up only receiving a 2.9% interest rate on the car, the only reason we ended up even following through with the deal was because we had already run around to get everything in order. The dealership and its managers clearly are abusing a bait and switch scheme forcing people to obtain financing through the dealership because they make more money off the deal. This untrustworthy deception is the reason we and now all of our friends and family will never do business again with Wayne Mazda or any of the other dealerships associated with Wayne Mazda. When I mentioned to the finance manager that he needed to discuss this bait and switch scheme that was being run his response was “ well its not really a bait and switch”. Our dealer Dan ended up offering to throw in a pair of all weather mats for the vehicle which we have asked for twice and never received them. The first week the windshield wiper fluid light kept coming on and off, when I checked, the car had no fluid what so ever. The interior plastic was simply pulled off quick so pieces of plastic were still sticking out from the column in between the windshield and door. Although these are unprecedented times when it comes to car Inventory, no person should ever be treated this way. More
Had an awful experience at Wayne Mazda yesterday, definitely the worst car shopping trip in my life. Virtually none of the employees wear masks, which was a turnoff at the beginning. We met a s definitely the worst car shopping trip in my life. Virtually none of the employees wear masks, which was a turnoff at the beginning. We met a salesman, walked around and were interested in a car. We were ready to pay cash. We have bought 2 Mazdas from this dealership before (in 2014 and 2015). We still have them, and they are in good shape. Both times I financed the cars, and (stupidly) bought the extended service plans. Maybe I'm just older and wiser now, but I feel the dealership is nothing like it was the last times we were there. Is it Covid burnout? Broken supply chains? Or they just don't like cash (they make a xxxx of alot more on finance), Whatever it was- we had a horrible experience. After we said we were interested, I gave the salesman my driver's license and the key to my car. The salesman (I don't recall names) asked me to sign a form saying I had test driven the car- but I had not. So I said I would not lie. I felt like his asking me to lie was very unprofessional, and made him convincingly untrustworthy. Between that and no mask, I was getting pretty uncomfortable. He then went and got the car, brought it back to the front door, and I drove it around the lot a couple of times. It seemed OK, and we were still interested. After 1/2 hour or so of pointless waiting, the salesman came back with a printout. At the top, they added $2500 above invoice- but he said to ignore that. No real "deal" for an end-of-year model. The next thing we talked about was what they would offer for my car as trade in. I was really offended that they asked no questions about my car, but offered about 60% of Kelly Blue Book as a trade in. I said that was an insult, and I asked for my keys back. I was tired of their games and lack of professionalism, and just wanted to go. However, after assessing my car, they kept my key in "the office". The salesman went to 'the office' and came back with a young manager (without my key) who started arguing with me, trying to bargain and haggle with me, but I knew they would never offer me a deal I was interested in, so I just kept saying no, and I wanted my key back. After a few minutes of this, I started raising my voice and walking towards the office. The young manager was now yelling at me, and told me to stay where I was (in the middle of the showroom now). I said its a public space, he could not tell me where to stand. We were both pretty loud by now- though he was alot louder with no mask on. I can't imagine what the other customers thought. I said I would not go in the office, but I wanted my key back *now*. Finally he went in the office and returned my key. My wife and I left immediately. They use high-pressure psychological games. I feel sure they gave me an insulting trade in offer because I was not interested in financing (we never got to the rip-off extended service plan). They dance around and play games and try to get you psychologically exhausted so you will give in to a not very good deal. I suppose most new car dealers play these games, but what my wife and I were put through was really outrageous. I may still buy a Mazda- they are good cars- but never again from Wayne Mazda. More
