On 3/22/13 my needs for a different car was a necessity. I had stopped several car lots on my way to Allan Nott, to get a feel of car prices and condition. I have purchased 4 vehichles from Allan Nott in the past and my family has also purchased cars. I was greeted upon entering by Adam Cox and stated my desires to him. He guided me to the area and I found what I was looking for, by brand and model. Financing was exceptional in that I had not been prepaired for a purchase on that date. (no check book), but was trusted to deliver it on 3/25/13 in person for the down payment owed. I drove the car home on 3/22/13. One stop shopping and within an hour and a half. I went in with my CR-V lease ending in 6 months, and only 400 miles left on my lease. A few hours later, Shawn had all of my needs met and also got me more miles per year on my new lease. I spent around four months researching vehicles to figure out what would replace my 1999 Buick Century. At some point you have to head out to dealerships to do test drives, and therein is the second part of your research, the people behind the product. I realized very quickly that the type of people that were showing me new cars were examples of the type of people that worked at the dealerships, the type of people that would be servicing my car for the next ten to fifteen years. I also quickly realized that there were a number of dealerships that I didn’t want to do business with, even if their product met my specs. Between attitude and aptitude, some did alright, but most fell short in laying out for me why they should have my business. And if you plan to use your dealership for service after the sale, make no mistake, you are entering into business together. Then I had the good fortune of meeting Shawn Risner at Allan Nott Honda in Lima, Ohio. From the start, it was not the usual test drive. Shawn educated me on changes in four cylinder technology and explained how it would compare to the six cylinder I was used to. He had me do specific tests with the car to show how it would perform. He didn’t just ride along and tell me about the stereo, he showed me how the car performed based on what I said I wanted it to do. Shawn told me that he tries to educate his prospective clients so that even if they do not end up buying a car from his dealership, they walk away more knowledgeable about what is available and how to shop for the performance they desire. In short, Shawn asked some questions, provided a wealth of information, and in learning about my wants and needs, explained his business and how his business could meet my needs. It was the first test drive that I took with a businessman instead of a salesman. I am in sales myself, nothing against people in sales, but I am a firm believer that a salesman can sell ice to Eskimos, while a businessman finds out what Eskimos need and sells them everything. Everyone I have shared my experience with knows how picky I am and has been impressed with how I feel about my business relationship with Shawn. My father and father in law have both said their next cars will come from Allan Nott because of the time Shawn spent to make sure his product was truly meeting my needs. (Plus they have driven the product, and they LIKE IT!!!). And speaking of time, I found out after the fact that on two of the three occasions that I dealt with Shawn, he was off the clock by the time we parted ways, in one instance he had been off the clock over two hours, but he stayed to make sure everything I could possibly need was taken care of and answered. That’s going above and beyond. People say they want customer service. I can give you a shining example of what customer service is and that it is truly still alive in 2013. I could go on and on, but if you are reading this and you are looking for a new vehicle, take the time to visit Shawn Risner at Allan Nott and see what you think for yourself. Even if you don’t buy a car there, I bet you have a much different customer service experience than you find elsewhere. I cannot tell you how comforting it is to know that I will be dealing with the people of Allan Nott when my car needs serviced, as I am tired of sales and ready to get down to business. Brett helped me when I came in did a wonderful job no complaints there. The service was fine and I have no complaints there. My problem is that while at the dealership I was asked to leave by Steve Wilso complaints there. The service was fine and I have no complaints there. My problem is that while at the dealership I was asked to leave by Steve Wilson, what kind of dealership asks a paying customer to leave other then wanting to throw his weight around. I am very disappointed in this experience. There are plenty of people out there who would be glad to have my buissness. I have bought six vehicles there since 2005 and do not know if I would buy another one there or even do service there again. This guy has a huge problem and needs to be dealt with. I have nothing against the service department but no need to go where you are treated as such. More
