"No Bull"? That is bull. Sure, we were impressed with the facility, the waiting room area, the selection of vehicles, and the spiel of "no bull" that our salesman told us. We'd found a truck online that had a great price and the right features. We drove from Tigard to check it out, and after two hours of being there, we walked out. Our confident salesman had been reduced to shaking our hands (at my instigation) with the wet-fish technique when we were leaving. Why did we leave? Because the "no bull" became "let's make you finance a $25,000 truck for over $37,000 -because we added extra stuff to it without asking you, and are making you put down $2000 cash- using Toyota financing" even though we told him several times we were preapproved through our credit union. He insisted they needed to pull our credit reports, which is what took up the most time during our 2-hour fiasco. I questioned him three times about my he needed our credit report when everything was available to him from the credit union online, and his answers were vague and unsatisfying, but I trusted him and the process. We went through a few rounds of haggling, which meant the salesman had to reprint his offer - which meant he had to leave his desk and sneak off to talk to the middleman. They do have middlemen, contrary to their "no bull" policy. Finally, I said, "Our no-bull offer is $25,000 minus our $6000 trade-in which is $19,000 to finance through OnPoint....or we're leaving." He didn't know how to end the ordeal, so I asked for our car key back. We met one of the middlemen when we all went back to get the car key. The middleman didn't understand what the problem was; I said we were preapproved but the salesman put us through this entire hoop-jumping process. Bottom line: If we were willing to accept $4000 for our trade-in, they'd make a deal with us. We said no. Then he tried to talk us into a lease; we said no. Then he suddenly remembered there was a similar pickup not yet put on the lot, not yet given a price, that could be driven around to the front for us to check out. I asked about the truck's features, because if didn't have what we wanted then there was no need to look at it. He said he didn't know, so we said thanks anyway - but we're leaving. We were given our key and I extended my hand to the salesman.....and we are never going back!!! More
