I love my new Subaru (so far), but the buying experience was awful. I scheduled an appointment to look at a Crosstrek, listed in their inventory at $34k. I get there and it’s $36k. They told me they would reduce it if I financed through them, so I did - but then I was signing paperwork before they ever told me the finance rate nor reduced the cost. This was brought up, and they gave $500 off. Not worth it.
I really should have walked away and gotten my Subaru elsewhere.
The salesman told me as I got into my new car that they would be sending me a survey. He begged me to rate him 10/10 on the survey and also let me know the survey would ask if he had told me about the survey and to answer, “No.” I’m not a dishonest person, so I’ll be doing neither of those things.
For the icing on the bad experience cake: when I got home, I found papers in the glove box saying the recommended list price of this car was $29k.
They fooled me; don’t let them fool you.
