Dear Tasca Ford Cranston Management,
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent vehicle purchase and subsequent service experience at your Cranston dealership. This was my second purchase from Tasca Ford, and my previous positive experience led me to believe I could trust your dealership again. However, this purchase has resulted in significant dissatisfaction and a severely damaged perception of your business practices.
I purchased a Jeep that exhibited transmission problems almost immediately. Despite multiple return visits (six in total), the issue was not adequately resolved in Cranston. I was consistently assured that the problem was being addressed, only to be informed later that your Cranston location lacked the expertise to repair Jeeps and that I should seek service in Johnston. In Johnston, the necessary transmission replacement was finally identified. This experience strongly suggests that the Cranston location deliberately delayed repairs until after the dealer's warranty expired, avoiding the cost of the transmission replacement themselves. This conduct appears to be both unethical and potentially fraudulent.
The vehicle was in your possession for an entire month for the transmission replacement. Upon its return, a new and serious issue emerged: the vehicle failed to respond to the accelerator pedal at a stoplight, then suddenly accelerated rapidly. When I reported this to your dealership, I was told this was a normal occurrence following a transmission replacement. This response was unacceptable, and I was forced to seek legal counsel.
Ultimately, after a lengthy and unsatisfactory process, I was offered a new vehicle but only received partial compensation for the defective Jeep. The remaining balance from the initial loan was added to the new vehicle’s financing. This resolution, which only partially addressed my losses, is wholly inadequate given the circumstances.
I am deeply troubled by the substandard service, the apparent attempt to circumvent warranty obligations, and the subsequent unsatisfactory resolution. The level of unprofessionalism and lack of integrity displayed by your dealership is frankly appalling, especially considering the reputation and financial standing of Tasca Ford. I intend to share my experience with others to prevent them from encountering similar problems.
