I purchased a 2017 Toyota Tacoma with 46,700 miles (VIN: 3TMDZ5BN3HM030325) from Chevrolet Novato located at 7123 Redwood Blvd, Novato, CA 94945 on February 16, 2026. At the time of the sale, I was told that the vehicle was in good working condition and that everything on the truck was functioning properly.
On March 3, 2026, I discovered that the air conditioning system does not work at all. This issue was never disclosed to me before purchasing the vehicle. With such low mileage, this is clearly something that should have been addressed or at least disclosed before the sale.
After discovering the issue, I contacted the dealership and brought the truck in so they could inspect it. Their own staff confirmed that there is a problem with the air conditioning system. However, they told me they would not take responsibility for the repair because I did not purchase an extended warranty.
What was even more surprising is that they suggested I purchase a warranty after the sale so that I could repair the problem on a vehicle they had just sold me. In my opinion, it is unreasonable to expect a customer to buy a warranty just to fix a defect that already existed when the vehicle was sold.
I am extremely disappointed with this experience. I trusted the dealership’s representation that the vehicle was in good working condition, but shortly after the purchase I discovered a significant problem that they now refuse to repair.
