I was recommended Honda of Sarasota thru the Costco Auto Sales program as one of their member associated dealers. I have to say that the salesman, sales manager and Finance representative were very polite a Sales program as one of their member associated dealers. I have to say that the salesman, sales manager and Finance representative were very polite and friendly. Friendly doesn’t always mean truthful and honest. After road testing the 2024 Ridgeline vehicle that I was interested in, the sales manager repeatedly presented me with a number of potential price details on slips of paper. When I agreed to purchase the vehicle, I requested a detailed itemized invoice of what the costs to walk out the door would be. I requested this information from the salesman and Honda finance representative a number of times over the course of a couple of weeks. I never received this from them. When I picked up the vehicle a week after signing for it, I again asked for a copy of the paperwork. I was shown a handwritten note that had a Market Adjustment of $4,995 on it which I refused to pay since virtually all dealers had stopped this process by late 2023. The Finance rep provided a credit "We Owe" slip for this amount and he said this would be sent to me. This was credited to my Honda Finance Loan about a week later. After a couple of weeks of my asking the dealership for an itemized invoice without them providing it to me, I contacted Honda Finance Customer Service directly. When I asked for a copy, they sent it to me within 15 minutes of ending my phone call with them. On the contract which was clearly marked “Customer Copy” on every page, there was a list of added “services” that totaled approximately an addition $12K in third party items like wheel and glass protection, maintenance, Road hazard, theft protection, etc. These were items that I neither asked for nor were they were discussed with me at the time of sale. When I visited the dealership for the third time to complain about these items being added a second Finance representative contacted the Third-part company and had them cancelled. I was told that it would be 4-6 weeks for the credit to be applied to my vehicle loan with Honda Finance. I have contacted Costco Auto Program Customer Service and filed a complaint with them over these unethical activities. The Costco representative I soke with apologized for the experience I had and will be contacting the dealership to further investigate my concerns. I also emailed the General Manager of the dealership (David Farner) expressing my concerns over the unethical actions that were taken with me and treatment they did towards me as a senior citizen and concern for other potential customers of my age. I have not received a response from him to date. What started as a pleasant vehicle buying experience has developed into my worst buying experience in over 55 years of buying vehicles. Future customers of Honda of Sarasota need to be more diligent and aware of the sales practices that they may encounter if they go to purchase a vehicle there. I would not recommend Honda of Sarasota to any age vehicle buyer. More

My sales rep, IVAN, was amazing. When the other car dealer I was considering was slow with the out the door price, I thought they had sold the car, so I emailed Honda of Sarasota. Once the other dealership sent me their price on a car listed for less, their price was $2000 higher than Ivan's. Guess which car I bought. I had to drive from Tallahassee to Sarasota, but the drive was worth it. From what I could tell, this is a straight-shooting car dealership. But IVAN, he is the man. HIs Marine training shows in his integrity and hard work. Thank him for his service. More

After getting the run around and shady practices at Lexus of Orange Park, I was very discouraged. Honda of Sarasota went above and beyond to help me. I was treated with kindness and respect. My salesman Sedr of Orange Park, I was very discouraged. Honda of Sarasota went above and beyond to help me. I was treated with kindness and respect. My salesman Sedrick was very helpful and knowledgeable. Brandon in finance walked ne through each step without judgement and explained each item to me. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend this dealership! And the warranty? Well that was the icing on the cake! More

Brandon Benoit is the worst person to work with in the finance department. He was pleasant when we were there originally, but after experiencing his behavior while trying to get our money back has been ve finance department. He claimed that it took 4-5 weeks to get our warranty removed. When asked about it, he added another week to his original comment, well it’s been over 7 weeks and no progress has been made. I reached out to the owner, no assistance. I tried reaching out to Brandon again and found out that my email has been blocked. Why would you need to block a customer that has never done anything mean. I have waited patiently this far, so to be blocked was completely unnecessary and says a lot about their work at Honda. Don’t get your car at Honda, better yet make sure you’re not workin with either Michael M or Brandon B. I was told by other customers that they are racist, but seeing how they have treated us, I can 100% say that I agree. They took advantage of my mothers lack of English, scammed us, and now blocked us. Says a lot about their character and integrity as a company. More

Michael A Malmsbury was our sales advisor and I THOUGHT he was great until I checked my loan bank account and saw the scam he pulled on us. I went with my mother, whom did not speak English very well, but he was great until I checked my loan bank account and saw the scam he pulled on us. I went with my mother, whom did not speak English very well, but if there was anything she knows is how to say “no.” In our culture, it is very common and encouraged to negotiate prices, and we did. We spent a few hours at the dealership adamant on this price and when Michael finally agreed, we thought we were getting a great deal! Until I realized he took advantage of my mothers lack of English and lied about asking her to add a certain warranty. If we were adamant on this exact price, why would my mother “agree” to add unnecessary warranty to our price. Exactly, she didn’t. He not only lied about this but he tried to use her language barrier for his own selfish benefit. Now, I am in the process of getting this warranty canceled and it is stressful when you thought you were paying a certain amount only to see them add an extra 7k to your loan. Be aware of their scams and make sure you fully read your contract before you sign. Even if you think they might be a decent person, you’re wrong. It is unfortunate because this completely ruined our experience with getting a new car. Update: Honda of Sarasota is the absolute worst place to get your car from. I worked with Michael AND Brandon Benoit and my I cannot be any more unsatisfied. I tried to reach out to the owner, whom I think is Michelle (no updates whatsoever), tried reaching out to Brandon (the person handling the finance) and was found out this morning that I was blocked. I have been extremely patient with them but it has been over 7 weeks and my loan amount has not been adjusted. So warning, if you get Brandon Benoit as the guy handling your finance, be careful of what you’re singing. He’ll not only scam you but block you for trying to get your situation solved. I am never one to leave negative reviews, but when they are taking advantage of my mother’s language barrier and then just treating us like this when we’re simply tryin to get it solved is ridiculous! If you’re a minority, don’t go here! They’ll just take advantage of you. More
