I've come to expect unprofessional behavior from poorly trained people struggling to fleece me before I got up to leave. That's exactly what's waiting for you at most dealerships. Last night, I had the pleasure of buying a 2018 CRV from a guy who should have a PHD in Honda knowledge, Chris Barrera. Beyond that, he eliminated all of the traditional friction of the transaction by getting down to business immediately and courteously. His demeanor could not have been more pleasant as he managed the negotiation flawlessly and with the utmost of respect for my goals and budget. Sales Manager James Kirpanos could not have been more polite and professional in securing my business and Finance Manager Randall Rosen made me feel like I was their most important customer as he wrapped up my deal with a genuine concern that I had everything I needed at 10:30pm on a Friday night. Who are these guys??? It was surreal! This is not only the most architecturally beautiful Honda store I've ever set foot in, but these guys are from another planet in the way they handle themselves. Best car buying experience in 30 years I began with an internet inquiry. Chris Barrera courteously offered me the information I requested (the only such dealer to do so). This was a shock i I began with an internet inquiry. Chris Barrera courteously offered me the information I requested (the only such dealer to do so). This was a shock in itself as I must have filled out in detail 15 different dealer inquiries, and ALL but Chris gave me none of the information I had asked to receive. It was as if the other dealers were on a robotic cycle to answer back the exact same way. Chris answered follow up inquiries professionally and pointed to what I had asked, giving me the information I needed to make my decision. He did not barrage me with silly return inquiries as the other dealers had done. Every time he made contact, he had a valid and purposeful reason. It continued once I entered the facility (of which is gorgeous). Chris met me and allowed me to lead the transaction (never pushy, never offering horrible instruction). He continued to be polite with a smile and upbeat attitude. He introduced me to Nick Capezio whom took the time to come over and listen to what my expectations were for the transaction (I am literally blown away: a salesperson and manager truly listening). Nick did have to explain why some of my expectations may have been a little too much ( I agreed with his honest explanation). The expectation and timeline was set by Nick and I was still guarded. The transaction happened much much better than the expectation that was set. Chris and the team supporting him at Valley Honda are well worth your time to put them on your list of dealers to visit. I am certainly glad I did! There was a downside to my lease of a Honda Civic, I am still suffering from the useless barrage of calls and emails from the other dealers saying they will beat any other deal (when will the industry stop with this message?). Valley Honda came in with the lowest payment on the first contact. Next time I will just go to this dealer. Chris Barrera and Valley Honda have my recommendation as a dealer to visit. Man what a professional, upbeat, and classy environment. So so glad Chris made the experience awesome! More
