Stopped in today to ensure I wasn't part of a recall. The service team took my '23 Sportage back and handed me my keys with a clean bill of safety in about 15 minutes. If I didn’t have a huge down payment or a co-signer I was dismissed and no longer contacted. I was looking at a 5 year old car and expressed the amount of money I was willing to put down. You would think was dismissed and no longer contacted. I was looking at a 5 year old car and expressed the amount of money I was willing to put down. You would think a dealership will be more focused on a person being able to make the payments on time and not a huge down payment that would knock off only a few bucks from the monthly finance amount. Instead, I sent over my info, and got a call asking if I could put more money down or find someone to co-sign. I told him I am not able to do either and he said “okay I’ll call you back with more information” and I’ve not heard from Will since. It’s sick and sad when you feel that you’re being taken advantage of. When you get hard hits on your credit just to be dismissed for not coughing up at last $3000 down. I am very money conscious and want to ensure I don’t spend alll my money just to drive it off that lot and not have enough space and room for insurance, gas, and the car note. Banks and dealerships need to do better. There are people with careers that have a hard time paying bills that didn’t put anything down. Yet, those of us who can put at least $2000 down and have more than one income we get pushed to the side. Horrible experience and will never frequent this place again. More
